I'm embarrassed to admit that it's been sitting for more than 2-1/2 years now, but I've been sidetracked with other 928 projects (ADD and OCD are a bad combination...) Am nearing the end of helping Greg build a new motor for it, the engine bits in my avatar are for the replacement motor. Looking forward to be the newbiest POC driver on the West Coast when it's done.
It's a Nikasil'ed 104mm bore, GTS stroke 5.9L, with the Zombie's old heads, and some reground & welded GT cams, and one of Greg's intakes. I'd like to think it'll make 530-540 crank hp, but as they say it'll make whatever it makes- Greg's not all that interested in the numbers. We'll toss it on the engine dyno to play with it before it goes in the car.
The stuff that's relevant to this motor starts about post #400 in this (too) old thread:
That's way cool. What I love about your car is that it actually raced....to my knowledge mine never did, or at least it appears not to have based on the condition of some of the stuff. That motor will have more than enough juice to get you going. I think the motor Carl is building for me will have similar horsepower.
Get going on it so we can race! My deadline is February!!!
So after reading some threads, I found out my race car was the only one that didn't have a name, and all the kids at school were picking on me.
I don't normally name my cars, but then I heard about the "White Zombie" and a few other ones, and frankly, "The Devore Car" is getting a little old, since not many cars are named after a dead guy. Usually.
So I thought of the car's attributes:
- Stocky
- Ultra Wide
- Originally petrolblau metallic, but the respray by some PO came out green
- Intimidating, in a kind of **** way
Then it hit me, and the old girl now has a name that matches her personality and evokes a little chuckle. Meet "The Tank"
I thought it was already called the Highwayman... Also, Mark Kibort, here in the Bay Area raced the "Holbert" car for several years, so there is a precedent.
I haven't named my "race" car either. There already has been "The White Car" from DEVEK, and Mark Anderson's "White Zombie", and Carl's white "Bonneville/Pike's Peak" 928, so any other white 928 is just another white 928...

Bulldust!
Your 928 is special enough and then some- how about "the Jorginator"
