You also said (''there are 3 connections. one for 75% full throttle for fuel enrichment, and the idle fuel cut off. I would not use the idle cut off as it makes for a abrupt off throttle engine speed drop, and in racing, gives too much compression braking as well as running the risk of the engine dying in slow turns with high braking pressure.
US bracket is part of the TB and cannot be transfered. )"
You mention 3 connections, one to the 75% full throttle and one to the idle cut off..thats two, what is the other one used for a type of ground?
Thanks again,
Cory J.

does your euro throttle body not have the microswitch?
If not, then you would then have to make a simple L bracket to mount the US throttle position switch for 75% full throttle and beyond. However, if it does have the throttle postion switch, then you can use it. post a jpeg of what you have and I can walk you through it

By "sealed microswitch that comes on the euro throttle body. there are 3 connections" you mean the throttle position sensor on the throttle shaft? Or is their a Euro miroswitch bracket I'm missing?

sure, you could just vent the oil filler cap breather hose to a filter, but I dont know the amount of oil and vapor that would be pushing though a little filter, if thats where you are going.
The easiest way, is to leave it as stock as as you can and just do the small mod to make the US existing oil filler breather, connect to the existing US "U" but with the mod im talking about. otherwise, this hose hits the euro throttle body microswitch and prevents the assmembly of the TB and the " U". If the euro microswitch is removed, there is no issue, and then you have to make the small bracket on the throttle linkage side, to mount the exsisting US microswitch. (as was said, just focus on the full throttle switch, not the idle switch as it is NOT needed at all)

What about another kind of oil breather could I use other than what you said or could would your idea work better because I was a little confused about it.
And about the Microswitch off of the euro parts, do you have to rewire anything for it to mate up to the US electronics?
Thanks,
Cory J.

actually, it is adjustable to engage the (WOT) contact earlier, as it should by design of the US system. typically, it would be engaged at 75% full throttle. you could actually get dangerously lean if it didnt engage at 90% throttle for example.
again, forget about the idle switch cut off, as that is not needed.

I looked at my car today in its stock US form and I looked at the throttle body, it had a switch with two wires coming out of it, and there were two of these switches I think...I'm not sure. But the one I could see clearest was right near where you can open the butterfly to rev the car. Is this the microswitch? And I'll try and get a JPEG to you when I get the parts in, HOPEFULLY TOMORROW! !!!
Thanks,
Cory J.

Thanks Mark for the reply. I got the old Bosch book out and I understand the Euro switch. Looks likes a beefy throttle position sensor. This Euro intake project is getting easier and fun?!!!

toofast: I hope you will receive your parts today................... Harpo got his yesterday.
Weissach: your parts were dispatched on the 1st December. As there isn't a public holiday this week, you may get them by the end of this week, or early next.
JohnF: Let us know how you're getting on !
I've managed to obtain one more set, I'll offer it to the next person on my list.....

I'll be interested to read the posts made by people on here who are doing the ROW intake swap.
My S2 is really Dr.Jekyl/ Mr. Hyde: From idle to about 3000 rpm, it is peppy but not necessarily all that extraordinary. Really, it doesn't feel any faster than my mother's pontiac bonneville.
AFTER 3000 rpm however...this car spreads its wings and flies away! It feels like something is behind the car pushing. And it is very hard not to hit the rev limiter at 6300 rpm- its a shame, because even at these engine speeds it feels like the power band is still increasing.
Good luck-

Norm,
Advance them cams!
2-3 degrees will bring the power band down into the useable range.

the porting here shows how it needs to look.

Woohoo! I fixed my problem today. The throttle was only opening about 60-65%, just under what was needed to trip the full throttle switch. I had to use a hose clamp to move the throttle cable slightly away from the firewall and adjust the ball socket end to allow the throttle to open fully. The air flow meter passed all resistance tests, and the car is running great. It feels much faster over 4000 rpm, and the mixture seems to be working fine even in the 5500-6000 RPM range, though it could probably stand to be richened for maximum power. Since the car is running good and feels strong, I'm going to try to dyno it next week!

JohnF,
Glad to hear the car is starting to make sense !
I've managed to find one more set of parts, I'm going down my list of interested people.
Cory, you should get your parts by the end of this week, latest !
