Why don't you search the prairies in western Canada? Cars in that area (Saskatchewan, Manitoba) don't get a lot of mileage and most are not driven in the harsh winters. I found one on autotrader.ca (1990) with 50,000 miles for around $30,000 USD asking. The car looks very nice. Just a thought.

Its NOT a GT as stated on its bumper. It is a Rogerbox. Although the car looks very nice, it does seem somewhat pricey for what it is. I am all for the value of our vehicles appreciating. Just want to give this some context.

Just came across this and I am extremely sorry for your loss. It was a beautiful car and the fraternal twin of my car. You were just asking me to go to Werks in Monterey together. All the works and money you put in the car was tremendous. I am so, so sorry.

Generally speaking, it is not a good idea to lift one quarter of the car with the cross brace removed. I know, I'm being OCD, but there is some chance of cracking the windscreen, flexing the firewall a bit, and some other minor issues. This may be more true with a compromised fender.

Seeing the car cleaned up the damage looks far less than it initially looked.

Is the bumper OK? Difficult to see warping in the photos. The fact that the tire is not melted really tells you how minor the fire was, the front spoiler too.
If these cars had steel fenders / hood you would probably only have bubbled up paint and some melted plastic in the engine bay.

This is absolutely fixable and should be saved.

My point still stands though looking at how close the melted aluminum is to the front spoiler that looks un-harmed.


Same here, slap on a hood and put some miles on it.

Or take off both fenders, leave off the hood and drive around for a summer in a mad-max style rat rod 928.

The wheel is Ok, but the tire blew. I went out to the local tire shop and mounted any used tire that would fit so I could roll it. Under the car the only real damage visable is one of the boots on the steering rack and a bushing on the front bar.
I pulled the fuel pump relay hooked up the battery and everything inside works, windows, sunroof radio, rear air all the lights in the pod etc. They all went on as soon as the battery was connected. The smell in the interior is almost completely gone.
Front bumper cover is Ok. There is a slight bit of damage to the outer rear edge to the front spoiler. It appears that the jump post cover got warm enough to melt over the 14pt and could have preserved it in some way. Another reason to have one.
The a/c compressor and the alt is Ok
It appears the ugly part of the damage was from the hood insulation melting on top of everything as well as the intake tubes.
