I'm really sorry to hear this. I was hoping to see it in a few weeks but I guess that won't happen now unless it is at 928 int during sharktoberfest in the back.

I hope you can get a healthy payout from the insurance company and get your 80 as perfect as you want it.

Best of luck with whatever happens in the future.

Terrible. Simply terrible. Good that it wasn't worse.

How many pictures like this have we seen? It always seems surreal, though, like flames photochopped onto the Mona Lisa.

Man, that stinks!

Agree on surreal.

Van, you know that is one of my favorite 928's, affectionately referring to it as "Mars" because of its beautiful gray-green interior and red body, but now, it just seems like...

The source looks like injector 8 which is the one with which you were having trouble.

It should be repairable. I helped restore one that was FAR worse. You will need a left fender, hood, and a lot of stuff under the hood, but the motor internals should be fine.

Sorry about the car, but glad no one got hurt/injured. Take a deep breath and then review to see if the car can be saved.

+1.

Good luck whatever you decide to do with it.

What hood?? That fender certainly took a beating. At least there was a free shuttle waiting for you when you put out the fire...

Really sorry for your loss. It was a beautiful car. If you decide to fix it, I have a hood to donate, just pay shipping.

Lousy news, for all of us. I don't scare easily, but I got myself a big Halon extinguisher after this happened to someone last year. Plenty more on Ebay....

Actually, with the fire out now and from the front...it might not be as bad as initially thought? The question is, do you just want to be rid of it now? I wouldn't blame you for that, for sure...but if not, I'll bet that could be repaired...
