The great Kibort Amsoil challenge
#17
Kibort and I go back and forth...it's the nature of having something in common and different ideas. In the end, regardless of who is giving who crap, we all are in a common brotherhood and we probably would all share a beer or two if put together in the same place.
He knows I'm going to drop kick him when he is down....only in Hollywood do they let the guy get back on his feet. You think an American Gladiator would let the other guy get back up and take the chance that the other guy might sucker punch him and win? Not a chance....
I'm, unfortunately, out of town this weekend...nothing I can do about it.
Mark and I have been talking about at what point he graduates from Grandma Kibort to Regular Kibort to Super Kibort, at Willow.
We both think that anything under a 1:30 would be a respectable goal....considering it's not his home track (people spend years learning the tricks at Willow), he's not on slicks, and he's down some 150hp from Anderson's car.
Anything slower than that....measured with a sun dial....Grandma Zone. Anything faster....and I'll have to admit he's getting better, with more track time....Regular Kibort. If he can go 1:28 or faster....Super Kibort Territory.
The bet is dinner and beers....and I'll have to not only have to read his endless writing about Amsoil, without saying anything bad, but I'll probably have to buy some, too. (I'm pretty sure you have to convert to Scientology to even be allowed to buy it.)
In all seriousness about engine damage at Willow.....I've communicated to him what to watch out for.....lifter clatter is your enemy (sign that the pick-up sucked oil)....and he will watch out for it (I really don't want him to blow up his engine.....that would be stupid.)

That is the most autosocialist thing I've ever seen you type. I'm impressed, really. Quite civil. Regardless the outcome, it is good to race these cars and there seems to be less and less of them on the track. For this I am a fan of Mark's efforts in this regard. And your contributions and willingness to share your intellectual property here publicly is greatly appreciated by many. Thanks for that. Again, the good sportsmanship is noted. Thanks again.

He's is in the fastest group - right? So he can drive flat out- That's important. I want in car footage to see hand positions, gear selection, (especially 2nd) etc. Should be a fun event. Drive safe. Friends don't let friends early apex !!

You have slow/fast groups in racing? The object is to win surely .. so driving flat out to me would be a given
