Hey! Didn't want to side track the BaT thread - yes, the car I am selling is the Fleming's car.
A little nervous...worried tomorrow could be one of the worst days ever to try and sell a car.
Thanks!
Hey no worries. I always envied that car. My guess is that it should be fine on Election Day. Most likely the eventual buyer has already decided to be bidding tomorrow. Good luck! Should bring a big number!
I have something cooking out in west coast that will take time and money, but I think it's going to be amazing when it is done. Shhhhh, my wife doesn't know yet

Time and money...that does sound like another 928 Mooty over on the 991 GT3 forums switches cars of the same color and his wife never detects the switch. T
I wish, but my wife likes cars as much as I do, except that she doesn't appreciate the 928! She loves her A7, but she now wants a RS7!

Hm. too bad about the Drivers rear. Taillight is stoved in there and the lower cover looks to be deformed over the exhaust shield (pic 5). Engine compartment sure did clean up well.
Looks like a little leather shrinkage and a plastic dash cover. Aftermarket wiper motor cover. Sunroof motor cover dangling (- style points), Def a car to pay close attention to degree of wear on leather on shifter, on cltuch and brake pedals, etc. Definitely been a fair weather car, I'd say. Worth someone checking out for sure. If you're into red/black at least & the price is right.
So after spending nearly a year sorting my M635 (Which is an amazing car BTW) I'm in the hunt again for a 928 and came accross this one: http://www.excellence-mag.com/classi...5#.WCRo6NUrL9g
The guy bought it from Isringhausen in 2008.
His mechanic (Charlie at RennSport Tuning in Erie) is representing the car for the owner.
He sent me many photos and service records from current owner.
Interior looks real clean except minor cracking on dash, car has sports seats with minor drivers side bolster wear.
But, here are my red flags:
No service history or mileage documentation prior to current owner.
Two new sets of rear tires within 6,000 miles when they failed to pass PA inspection (too many burnouts I assume)
Car was repainted last year "due to fading" (He says trim removed, but not glass out, no photos of before or during painting)
Service history shows several requests by the owner to check A/C. (A/C only shows 60 at vents....mechanic thinks that's cold enough....my air-cooled Porsches blow colder)
Service history shows several "Battery not holding charge" (Dash gauge is definitely showing not charging...mechanic says the guage is off....well then why does the battery keep dying?)
Mechanic says he recalls changing the timing belt, but he doesn't know when and there is nothing in the service history.
Mechanic claims he is a "928 expert" but when I asked for a photo of the 14-pin connector he litterally had no idea what I was talking about.
So, here's my question for the group....>>>>my gut says run<<<<....but if you guys think I'm over-reacting is there anyone near Erie that could lay eyes on this for me?
And another one that I'm sort of interested in....but considering the "BaT premium" I will probably get outbid....plus the seller seems like a flipper. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1988-porsche-928/
