Nice! Welcome to Rennlist and congrats to the new purchase. Please let us know what's up with the supercharging a twin dizzy. How much did you get it for?
Will do, I'll be driving her back to Miami on Friday so we'll see how that goes (fingers crossed). I'll be taking it easy, going to make a trip/adventure out of it with my son, we've done this a few times before (Dallas and Chicago). The car is running well apparently with no issues so I'll check all fluids, belts, cooling system, etc before I leave. Any spares I should bring? Cap, rotor arm, coil?
I'll give her a going over when I get back and a full service, fluids, filters, belts, hoses, wires, plugs, etc.
I'd rather not mention the price on a public forum but feel I got a good deal.....twin dizzy euro model that runs great, nice interior, good dash, new tires AND a SC. It was less than the ask and should cover my round trip costs, flights, hotels, gas, etc. So far I'm very happy with the deal. Hopefully she is fairly represented.
Potentially a good one for the bottom feeders. Only $4K for an S4. The repaint color choice was not good IMO. But what $4K 928 doesn't need a respray? Only one pic in the ad so I had the seller send me some interior pics. Here is what he also wrote. I'm not interested in the car BTW, just like getting more info so I can post it up here.
"Hi Nate,
Rough idle is more of a flooding issue in the 2000rpm band. Other issues are a battery drain probably from the front end (have to disconnect negative terminal overnight). As with all 928's the timing belt has to be retensioned after 1000mi and I haven't driven that far since the replacement.
I have a bunch of people interested at the moment. See attached for other pics. If it doesn't sell today I will let you know. Thanks for looking."
Ugh... Terrible color. It might be okay with a contrasting stripe added - maybe white, black, or even dark blue or gray, but then I'm known to like stripes. Are those little plastic boxes for fuses in the passenger footwell tray? How many fuses has he gone through?
But, yeah, hard to argue with $4k for a running 928 of any year.
Pending Sale next month/ Oak Green Metallic 1978 US 928 / Manual / Non Sunroof
Just got this Oak Green Metallic 1978 Manual,Non Sunroof, Partial Black Leather Interior back from Jim Doerr . He performed a mechanical restoration and some electrics sorted out with a new engine wiring harness supplied by Sean Ratts. Currently the car is with Import AutoHaus and having some more items tweaked out. Plan on recovering the steering wheel and redoing the front seats. Car was rescued by me from Pennsylvania, at that time it had a new radiator and repaint done to it.It was a running car at the time. It sits on new fresh Continental rubber and newly refinished original 16" phone dials powder coated. All the important safety items have been replaced. Ball Joints, Motor Mounts etc. It also has a new timing belt and water pump installed. Too many things to list at the present time. Have a line Item from Jim of the work performed and will have service records of work currently being performed.Plan on putting a good 200 - 300 miles on the car to shake it down before I decide to sell it or not.Probably will sell it, as I am interested in pursuing a 968 currently. PM if you are seriously interested to discuss.Have not decided on an asking price yet. I will have that in a month from now when I get the car back and road test it. Have not been on here in a long time. I post for Flussig Magazine from time to time and most of the fellows on the 928 forums know me.
Best Regards LongRunner
This one I've posted when it was up for sale last year. Paging Renegade Hybrid enthusiasts. 1978 White, black interior, manual. No affiliation. $29k asking price, says he'll take an offer around 20k.
I find it ironic that the seller advertised the importance of "Certificate of Authenticity" to a chevy hybrid! There is a nicer one on ebay now and it won't get more than $12k. Good luck with this one!
