928s for Sale
Rennlist Member
I have a friend who recently sold his '93 GTS 5 speed. I had no idea he was going to sell it, and he had no connections within the 928 community. Here is a link to the dealer who bought the car directly from him and now has it listed for sale:

This dealer does not have a great reputation, and I was sad when my friend informed me he sold it to this company. The car is MUCH better than most of the stuff I've seen from this dealer in the past. IF you have SERIOUS interest in this car, you can contact me and I'll see if the recent owner (for about 5 years) would agree to chat with you about it. He is a VERY honest man.
I have no involvement with the dealer, and only posting this information in case someone on Rennlist might have an interest, and because I would like to see the car stay within the enthusiast community..

Being part of the Alfa Romeo community/forums and having read many posts about their dealings, I can say BHCC normally sells vehicles that are not what they represent, it looks like in this case they'll be able to represent a beautiful 928.
I will add it looks like a straight flip, they could have spent a few dollars and cleaned up the undercarriage, but that's not who they are, buy it, spend no money and get rid of it, very sad that your friend sold it to these guys.

they must have gotten it for a rather good price, as they don't normally stock cars in that quality range. the price must have been appealing enough for them to drop some cash.
a GTS, 5spd, in Slate Gray metallic. pretty sweet car.

out on ads in the world at any given time. My car only came out because the owner was facing non-reversible disability. He was selling off
most of his vehicles, a very sad story. When he heard my restoration-plans and connection with the 928's, then I got to buy the car for the
right price. And that also included a very supportive shipping plan as I found out afterwards...

Mixed feelings about selling but I’m just not making the time for this car. Doesn’t need anything major, just some TLC.

I almost purchased that car back in late 2007 right before I actually purchased the Charlie Car. The wheels and the Rootwood totally reminded me right off the bat on this GTS. I’m pretty sure I got the company that did the PPI on it from Chuck Z.. (Again, this was a long time ago and I believe it was in NC at the time. The guy that did the PPI said that once he got it up on the rack he could tell it had been in a Collision. Once he said that, I paid him, contacted the seller that I would not be moving forward with the purchase. Ironically the Charlie Car came up a week or so later on EBay (same color combo) and I Purchased it. Not trying to PooPoo this one, and to be honest, the PPI place never told me the extent of the damage he detected, It just struck me pretty quick when I saw this pop up.
Looks like the car has been maintained on a really high level and no issues, but I’d just say to anyone purchasing it, this is what I found on my PPI.
I do hope it goes to someone here in the Community.

Chuck,
Not sure about the connection you are referring to regarding the car my friend owned. He'd owned it for about 6-7 years as I recall, and bought it directly from his boss (at Yale U). I thought his boss had owned it for quite a while. A CarFax history should tie things down a bit, but I don't have an open account to get that. Might see if I can find out more about it's history.
Gary
I found a bit more on this car - Originally in CA for quite a while, then in North Carolina, then in Rhode Island/CT. Quite a bit of service history is now shown for the car on the seller's web site.

odd that it is still showing as MOT having run out even though the ad says it has had one done and just had a few advisories 🤔

Between the wood trim, the interior color and the Fikse wheels, this is about as perfect as it gets.
I wonder if they'll take my five 928's in on trade?

i am wondering why this isn't sold yet....

As awesome as the Fikse's are, they're not the original wheels, that rootwood console and ashtray onlay don't match (and I don't think are original to the car), and the toy car market is holding its breath and weighing the consequences of the debt ceiling negotiations that are (hopefully) ongoing. Probably not the best time to be a seller.
