Well Friends...I have some serious reservations, but I've re-discovered an old hobby and decided to invest my time and space toward that endeavor. I've enjoyed this car for just about 9 years now. Had ~54,000 miles on it when I picked it up in Dallas and very little had been done to keep it healthy. I'm the second owner. I do know it came to me out of Odessa, Texas.
So…before I publish the SHAR-Q sale on the dreaded elsewhere, I figured I'd roll it out here. If someone wants it for their own, or for a spouse or friend, I’d be proud of it. Sean, Roger, John, Don, Ken, and many others really helped me pull this vehicle out of the deferred maintenance dust bin. I can't thank you gents enough. But it looks like I’ve ridden this horse as far as I’m going to ride it.
This car hammers as well as any stock motor 85 auto out there, has a solid suspension and a perfect auto tranny. Most recent Porken Chip and X-pipe really wakes up the additional hp and cool mapping. Ready as a daily driver if that’s your desire. I have CD repair manuals, two original manuals, Porken lift bars, service covers, and a bunch of other stuff I’ve collected over the last few years will go with it. Have a recent CarFax and it's clean as a whistle. If you have a buddy or a kid that wants to get in a car and drive today - this car will do it. Odometer states 67,XXX - actual mileage is 70,XXX (took me 3K to change the odometer gear).
I’d prefer to take a reasonable offer from a Rennlist member considering all the great help I received from so many on this great forum. I’ll send any interested party the list of “Done’s and To Do’s” and all the pics you need. If no genuine interest here – then off to BaT. Of course, any of y'all are welcome to come check it out mano i mano and give it a once over here in Spring, TX.
So can Ter and I still go to Third Coast in the 740li? Not quite as peppy, but at least it was born in Germany...

Reputable guy/seller and fellow RL'r. I'm sure others will soon chime in to vouch for Bill. If someone is in need of a shark and you like what you see...go get it T
Folks think that those aluminum panels are easy to dent like that.. they are not. This was some serious hail
That is going to be a serious win for someone who's looking for a driver. That car looks to be about a weekend's worth of work from being back on the road.
Hoi,
This GTS has been passed from collector to collector and bought by Wilhoit and resold twice, The mileage is correct at 40k. This was the 22nd 1995 GTS imported into the US.The original owner sold it for 60k back in 2005,Wilhoit took possession of it in 2007 and sold it for a undisclosed amount,Then Wilhoit bought it back in 2013 and sold it for 82k I don't think this one will sell for less then 60k. I love the interior color combo, I always hate Linen Carpets with the Linen seats, Always prefer Black Carpets, Sterring Wheel, Dash Pad and center consoles .
In light of being on Mecum (not German car friendly and auto), but 40k miles, I would think $60k.
I guess Mecum only really cares about selling American classics. The presentation of that GTS is a joke for such a nice car. I'd love to know the mindset of the person in charge that thought, "yeah a bunch of crappy pictures in a back parking lot should draw a ton of interest for the pinnacle of Porsche's flagship GT car". Not surprised it didn't meet reserve.
I agree that we think the car should be worth more, but Mecum is not a place for German collectibles and I am not surprised that the car didn't meet reserve with the top bid at $52.5k. Close to about what I thought it would fetch there. I am surprised that Mecum allowed a higher reserve than that given their lack of knowledge about anything 928.
I would sell a 928 on RM/Bonhams before I would choose Mecum.

That's assuming it was a sorted car prior to the hail storm. My 79 looks roached but hasnt been in the weather since I got it in 2012
Back in negotiations with Brendan's barn find and restoration. This car should come back to the Rennlist family. If we can agree to a number, I'm having the rub strips removed and the car painted.
