I would be on pins and needles about the deal until I had it on a trailer.

Good point. Since its such a good deal, why not pay for a transporter to pick up the car ASAP if one can be found faster? 3 days is a long wait and alot can happen.....

I was off all day yesterday, had the seller gotten back to me I would have been there being that it's only 1 hour south of me.

Nice car, but I think 27k cdn is a bit optimistic for an auto with 250k km's on it.
Topped out at 10k usd on BAT last week.

But still a lovely colour combo.

Hey guys,
I don't contribute nearly enough to this thread, but I check it everyday. But I found a 928 in my area that I figured the experts on here might have some insight on or suggestions.

I haven't spoken to the seller yet. But was wondering if it is even really worth pursuing. I don't know how much it costs to replace the computers in the 928s but I can't imagine it is very cheap, if that's actually what is wrong with it. Also there are no interior pics which worries me.
What do you guys think?
I'm not impressed by the pics. But it is fairly close to me, and it is somewhat in my price range. I'm still trying to hold out for a blue colored manual transmission anyways...but VT summers are not very long. lol
Thanks

Expect a lot more than just replacing the module. Its nearly sinking in the mud and I would expect a TB, water pump and full intake refresh as the least. Who's to say the timing hasn't skipped at worse case. I would run from this one, 5g will at least get you something that moves under its own power to allow a more through PPI. Step back to 16V if need be.

Pulled out of a deal for it yesterday because I don't think its ethical taking a Euro GT for $2k from an uneducated seller who is trying to raise cash for his step-daughters college funds from their passed fathers contentious estate sale. Seemed like a very nice, genuine guy.
From what I know:
- The rear dent is not registered as an accident on vehicle history reports.
- All belts were described as taught, unbroken / undamaged. I'd hedge there's no valve interference damage and engine can be returned to working order.
- Its under 60k miles, undriven for almost 10-years.
- VIN WP0AA2927MS810348
I know that the 928 is nicknamed 'shark' but we shouldn't be 'sharks'.
Someone should help the seller get what this is worth, it seems that he is genuinely trying to do something for his step-family and doesn't know what he's got.
IMO, $12k-$16k is what this is worth today. Those that have the means to fix this up independently will have a $30k plus car with tons of upside and equity in it.
No paperwork, needs a full paint job and body work, hasn't run in 9 + years, sitting outside for who knows how long, one key, almost 70k on the clock.
But its worth more than he is asking so you didn't buy it

So in your many years of 928 ownership and restoration, how did you form the opinion and valuation of $12 to $16k?

I'm good with our PM, thanks for offering to chat. I did not have a dog in that fight, however a local friend did look at the car this morning, mouse nests and all, now seller wants BIG $
Thanks,
Dave K.

Check this one out. Looks to be an early euro 5 speed with cup rims and tires? Hard to tell from the garbage pictures but could be a cheap 5 speed donor car especially if the engine is complete...
Hoi- this is out near you isn't it?
