Sh*t eating grin...new 928 owner!
Hello All!
After diligently researching and learning for almost two years, I now own a 928! I wasn't actually ready to look for one, but this one found me:
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...automatic.html
So...I now present you the Red Witch.
She is a 1986.5 USA spec 928S, Guards Red with the 4spd automatic. She has 165k on the clock, and carries those miles well.
Black leather interior with red highlights and chrome Manhole Covers outside.
She has been in the hands of an enthusiast since 1997, which has provided me with a stack of service history documents. I'll get into that later.
For now, photos:
I will post more photos, service history, and just what I plan on doing with my 928 soon.

this is a well cared for machine,
the miles dont matter as much as the condition does.
Lots of great drives will done in this machine

Congratulations on your acquisition. I can truly say this is the first time I have seen that much red on the intake/cam covers and liked it. Used as an accent, it looks really good!
Now about that missing jump post cover.....

You win! Proper color, and year. I had one just like it without the red trim inside, and apart from baking in the black int in summer, it was one of my favorite 928s. Enjoy, and keep us informed.

As of right now, she is going under the knife at Auto Assets for the following:
-full TB job
-resealing of the oil pump
-oil and filter change
-full WP job
-drive belts
-expansion tank replacement
-cam plugs replacement
-brake fluid flush
-front and rear flex plate clamp migration check, crank endplay check, and new pinch bolts
-replacement of a leaking transmission cooler line under the car
-inspection and repair of inop washer systems
I will be replacing the battery on my own just prior to road tripping the Red Witch home to South Carolina.
Granted, alot of this I could have taken care of at home. However, she is 550 miles away, and is already up on a professional's lift. I will just have to pay a little longer.
On that note, I paid cash for the car. I am financing repairs totaling approximately 3/4 the purchase price. So, I am now $15,000 into a $5,000 928. Sounds about right...
In early May, I will be flying to Ohio to take possession of my 928. I will then road trip it home.

Good, bad, or otherwise...it will certainly be an adventure.
I have already ordered:
-Momo Tuner black 350mm steering wheel with matching hub
-Hella H4 E-code 7" conversion kit
-Osram H4 NightBreaker Unlimited bulbs
-ceramic H4 sockets
-ceramic VXB 6000-2RS bearing for the front windshield wiper motor
I need to order soon:
-Jim Morehouse CD set
-a set of Lift Bars
-a set of service covers
My intent in the near future is:
-steering wheel replacement(Always wanted a Momo in a 928)
-headlight upgrade using 4 relays following Alan's instructions
-rebuild wiper motor
-full transmission service:
filter and updated MB pan gasket
Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF
all O-rings, including Bowden cable
all crush washers
kickdown spring
K1 spring kit
-flush P/S system
-change differential fluid
After that...DRIVE THE WHEELS OFF!!!
