UpFixenDerPorsche: Thank you! A brick won't knock this grin off.

Oh yes. She will be cursed at. And bled on. And not looked at the next morning. And plead with. And begged. And wrenched on. And had shovels of money dumped in. And DRIVEN! And loved.

I am more or less out on bail. My wife hates my 928. She says it looks like an ugly Mazda. Bwahahahahah!!!
More importantly, she thinks I am a fool for spending so much money.
Yes. Yes I am.

"Owed to The 928"

Well thankyou both for the compliments.

Sort of came to me on the drive home from my second frenzy. I had always had an affinty for free verse in high school; felt this style best conveyed the sense of suspense so it just evolved after that. :-)

In a similar vein... A few days ago, I was doing a google search for 'Porsche 928 service covers.' Often, google will try to anticipate your search. I saw 'Porsche 928 service costs.'
I blinked, and a dark voice in my head growled, "Your soul..."

I had a revised invoice from Auto Assets awaiting me when I awoke for work this evening.

Good news: Gary refurbished the existing tensioner.

Bad news: The oil pump had to be replaced, as did the crank front main seal. I am not surprised by the seal. I have not yet heard back on the failure/reasoning for replacing the oil pump. I am going to assume excessive wear.

In addition, the washer system took more effort and parts than expected.

So be it. I am still good with all this.

I will post the final invoice after all is said and done.

On a good note, the Momo Tuner Black 350mm steering wheel and matching hub arrived today. Man...that wheel feels SO good in my hands.

Putting a used Fittipaldi wheel (Momo knockoff) that I got from Mark was one of the biggest improvements I have made to my 928.

M. Requin: I can't wait to install this one. I'm even kicking around the bad idea of shipping it to Ohio and installing it after I pick up the Red Witch.

DeWolf: Yep. That is definitely going to happen. More than once.

Thanks!

Thank you, cvjhj! It is still so unreal. I have spent the money, I have parts coming in here at home, I have the photos. It has not sunk in that I have a Porsche 928 yet.
And...I just realized that I am a little over two weeks from meeting the Red Witch.

It will take a while. It's going to be worse not having the car at your house.

Once you get it home, you will feel the need to go out to the garage and check to make sure it's real. More than likely at about 3 AM.

Oh yeah. I just want to look at her and smile.
As opposed to other times, when I will look at her and cry...

That wheel looks sharp. I like the red stitching. Don't remember the model of MOMO I had in my GT but it was black with red inserts. LOVED it. Both look and feel were so much better. You're gonna have one helluva nice sorted and personalized 928 by the time you get it home and the new parts installed.
