Do you guys think these seats would work in my 89?

Thanks

Check one of Tony 77's threads. I think these are the same as he put in his GTS, now sold to someone in Denver, or thereabouts.

If the rails were not modified to fit a 993 I would say yes. I have a clean pair of 12 way power seats from a 2010ish Cayman in black leather if you are interested. I know the ones I have will bolt right in. Madturk has a similar pair (sport backed seats instead of the standard back) installed in his. They use the exact same seat bases and seat rails. He said he had to do 0 modifications to get them to bolt in. All you have to do is add power and ground. I will even beat his price too. $1000 for the pair plus shipping.

I don't think I've ever seen the Cayenne seats but would have thought they'd be too big since they're coming out of an SUV. They look ok in a 928? Where are you in Chicago? Thx.

He's speaking of a Cayman, not a Cayenne.

The Cayman seats will fit and look great in a 928.

Having swapped the seats in my 997 - regular to adaptive sport plus versions, I think the only 997 seats I'd attempt to put into a 928 are the manual ones like those in your initial link. Only the recline is power so a simple connection to two wires - the fore/aft and up/down are manual levers. I know people whove put full power 997 seats into a 996 and the wiring changes were a PITA because of the memory modules, airbag modules, etc and that's not to get either of these to work, just to get all the seat functions to operate, so it's not as simple as putting say 930/newer 928 seats into an OB 928 (like I did with mine), which was just pulling the larger power and ground pins out of the multi-pin connector and wiring them up to those in the seat.

From what I understand the 997 seats will physically bolt right into the 928 mounts without any changes.

I'm about an hour west of the city. I have several pairs of 987 Cayman Seats. Manual with power recline, 12 way, Black leather, gray leather, 997 sport seats, and so on. They all share the same lower seat frame rail geometry. All will bolt into the 928 based on what I've seen. If you are local and would like to see them let me know...

Thanks!

Not to derail but more like killing two birds: what about the OBs? Which other Porsche seats fit with the least trouble ETC.?
