Thursday night garage party at the Edward's place. I feel guilty having so much fun late on a Thursday night!

Time to ditch the day job gig.

That engine looks like a million bucks...and then some!

How was the clutch assembly and flywheel?

So instead of stringing the belt we spent some time figuring out order of assembly tonight, getting things oriented and the parts in place. Nothing is bolted down, just piecing things together:

No paint stick X, but close to it- Need to find the right shade of orangey-red for all the factory torque check marks, to idiot-proof the million and one fasteners...

Meanwhile, Mark's House of Unobtanium came through on a couple more bits- it's scary what he can shake out of the attic:

There IS no substitute... having too much fun to care about personal fashion statements while taking glamour shots of the star!

Outstanding engine. Just don't forget a clamp on that coolant line, back side of drivers side head. Can't even imagine how many pictures you guys must have, crap, you got pictures of the guy taking pictures...incredible.

What did you guys do to the exhaust manifolds?

This car will be like no other.

Damn, I need to invest in some better gym shorts.. And more compromising pictures of William.

Brian, the exhaust manifolds were just bead blasted clean. I was tempted to shoot them with a high temp manifold paint or Calyx dressing but decided to just leave them as is. Still time to change our minds.

There are still a bunch of hose clamps, the fuel injector pipe clips, plug wire brackets, etc. I need to go over the entire thing at least twice and check all the fasteners. And then probably have William do another round, to catch what I've missed after three rounds....

I still need to tape off the top and soda blast the rest of the diverter valve
Bruce, here's the final finish on the diverter valve, I think this is correct for 78-95 (928s and 911s), AFAIK:
