Does polar express rides every year at the train museum. Trying to get on with a cruise line.
Update. Ordered the sub, and all the connecting cables, and the tweeters. Going to try to do the sound system wiring and speakers, etc....all so I can reinstall the center console after the DD conversion. Still have to do timing belt and WP also....hope that cures my running issue.
Played with the green wire today...didn't fix anything. Set #1 cyl at tdc, compression stroke. Rotor dead on pointing to #1, and timing mark at 0 tdc. Got driver side timing cover off, and drivers cam is perfectly aligned with notch in cam and indicator mark. Just need to get cover off passenger side and check that cam...if it lines up then I will be 100% stumped on this weird running issue.
Audio bahn amp and a voodoo capacitor, going into the white 82 !
Did you install this? if so where - space is very limited...? a word of warning - you do need a charging mechanism for this - if you just directly connect it you will very likely blow the fuse (even if it is a 50A fuse).
use a switch and a charging resistor - let it charge up for a few mins via a 500 ohm 1 watt resistor before fully connecting it (e.g. a switch and 500 ohm resistor in parallel in the ground connection to the capacitor).
Make sure all equipment connected to the capacitor is off while you are trying to charge it.
I have not not installed the setup yet, I got sidetracked with some other projects, and this has not been a priority. I got another 928, and just completed installing a lift in my shop. Have some repairs to make on the rest of the fleet, and then I’ll get back to this car. I knew it had to be charged, wasn’t sure how...
this will be installed in the spare tire well. I had a board made that covers the well, the amp, capacitor, and powered sub will mount on the board, with a cutout for the sub facing up. The spare will be removed, and replaced with AAA towing coverage.
No real update...she is sitting outside in the cold and rain, as the shop just got outfitted with a new lift, and I am installing a new heat pump for the shop. The daily drivers all have issues.
2007 Solara getting rotors and pads and oil change
2008 Tiburon same as solara
2007 Q7 O2 sensor and oil change
2007 suburban rotors + pads, coils, plugs, oil change
Man, I hear you Ron.
As much as I enjoy working on the 928, doing deferred maintenance on our other cars is just boring drudgery. Only thing that keeps me honest is that I can say I’m saving money by doing it myself.
