Default 928 Fresh Race Engine Dyno

The race engine for this season has just come off the dyno. Thought you'd find the video interesting.

The engine performed very well and has a pretty soft tune in it to withstand the rigors of road racing all season. (not the tune we use for Bonneville, which is much more *****-to-the-walls)

We will be competing in the NASA Midwest GTS series this season, in the Unlimited Division. Stop in and say hi!

(Note: we will not be in attendance at the April 11-12 Gateway Park event)

ALL the parts for this build are available right off our website. The cogged drive for the supercharger was custom, but I've sold two of them so I can setup another one if you like.

Sleeved 928 engine, 4.145" bore http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/dry_liners.php
Forged pistons http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/...ed_pistons.php
Steel con rods http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/connecting_rods.php
Forged stroker crank http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/stroker_crank.php
Crank scraper/Windage tray http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/...aftscraper.php
CNC head porting http://www.928motorsports.com/servic...alve_heads.php
Nylon intake runners http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/intake_runners.php
Performance camshafts http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/camshafts.php
Big port headers http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/big_port_header.php
Engine management http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/...management.php

There's more (gaskets, stainless steel valves, titanium retainers, etc) all on our site too.

Here is the link to the intake manifold development:

This engine has already been running for 3 years, some 21 race hours. This was a complete rebuild just to freshen it up.

Thank you for your interest!

Nice. Out of curiosity, what was the boost at peak torque and peak power?

The intake manifold and all the fittings have been designed and tested at 20 psi. We are running about 18 psi at max. This year the bore is .020" larger than last year, so I expect that may have come down slightly. I did not have a cable on the MAP sensor to a read-out during the dyno, so I cannot tell you what it was directly.

no doubt you could orbit the planet in a prius with a 9 volt battery and defy gravity and all rules of science.... including shooting sun spot flares from your American gladiator tights..

To be safe - always call us before hand to make sure we will be at a given track event before you drive over. I don't want to disappoint anybody!

That makes sense in terms of numbers.

880hp * 14.7/(14.7+18) = 396 hp boost normalized from 6.6L
880hp * 14.7/(14.7+18) / 6.6 = 60 hp per liter boost normalized
(150.8/61) * 880 * (5250/6400) / 6.6 = 270 psi BMEP at peak power
(150.8/61) * 880 * (5250/6400) * 14.7/(14.7+18) / 6.6 = 122 psi boost normalized BMEP at peak power

One question that comes to mind is what would a bone stock early S4 engine do with the same supercharger, intercooler, and headers on race gas?

I could only guess and I don't think I'd be to accurate with that guess.
