New product. Injector adaptors

One of the "side" benefits I expect to see, especially on the '84-'86 Euro engines is far better emissions (some of us still have smog inspections).
I'm guessing that the never 4 hole injectors will atomize far better, at lower rpm ranges...reducing fuel puddles in the lower velocity Euro ports.
I suspect, independent of emissions, for the low speed running to improve significantly.
The better the fuel vaporizes and mixes with the air, the better the explosion.

This particular part is very easy to fabricate by anyone having a lathe which including a mill should be a part of a complete car enthusiasts garage.

I have bought parts from Mark Anderson, David Roberts and Roger and I haven't been disappointed a single time. I had the great pleasure to meet Roger in person during the Euro928 in Leipzig.
There is almost always drawbacks with buying copycat parts, but people aren't aware of it and mostly just focus on the price.
If I would have some criticism for you leaders of developing and supplying products to the 928 community is that you don't show your products enough.
People might buy the copycat stuff, because they don't know that there is an original. It would be nice with a better homepage with all your improved and performance product, or at least a list of products. Now you need to find posts here on Rennlist about the product or that someone mentioning buying the specific part.
I know that you spend a lot of hours developing parts and might not have time for have a fully updated homepage, but I would guess that just a list of parts would have a positive effect on sales.

Matthias, I fully agree, Mr. Brown is an excellent mechanic but he is really bad at marketing. Why does he not use this for marketing efforts? We like to see a price list.

I think you have hit the nail on the head (I am sure the advertising/marketing professionals on here realised long ago) but as an Engineer it took a long time for this to sink in for me.
I tend to buy parts in advance for projects I wish to undertake (I now have a thirteen year old complete clutch kit I haven't fitted yet.) and am at the stage where I probably should just email Greg and say give me a quote for everything you make/have improved for an S4/GT and then I'll choose what I want. Your link to Gregs photobucket page reminded me what I have forgotten that Greg makes, and thus what might be usefull to have on the shelf.

Greg,
Nice product.
You should start to look into getting use and design patents for your ideas.
If you fill out the app and do the drawings patents are not expensive to apply for.
The applications aren't as complicated as you'd think either. But you are too late on many of your products as you've already marketed them so "they're out there"..
This turned adapter is simple to draw, perfect for a design patent if you plan to market them to VW/MB owners.
And once you fill out the app you can say patent pending.
I hope you start, i am trying to become familiar with it now as i've had many ideas copied. i can't look through certain car catalogs or i get a little sick..

I'm all about the cheap. Nothing to do with tree hugging. My plane burns LEADED aviation fuel, and I"m spewing LEAD particles all over you people walking around on the ground when I fly.

Mr. Brown, anything you develop can and probably will be copied. That is life, you have to accept it. The only way to protect an invention is to get a patent granted and I am not sure it will help keeping all the copycats fully away.

I'm a pretty darn good machinist, myself.
I designed and built these, because I needed them for my own use on one client's car.
I made a couple prototypes, tested them, made some modifications, made another one, made some more modifications, and them made a final version. One final version.
When the time came to make 7 more, I almost made them, then realized the time it was going to take me to make those 7 pieces, with the "tight" dimensions and shapes required, for the injector to properly plug in, not fold the o-ring, not leak, and properly be retained.
There's no doubt I could have built 7 more, by hand, charged the customer for a couple days of my time to develop, test, and hand make h a set of these things....a couple of thousand bucks....and he would have been thrilled....because it would have fixed his non-solvable injector problem, on his beloved 928! And I, personally would be far better off, financially...because I'd have gotten paid for my time!
However, while thst would have kept this piece totally mine, that would not have helped anyone else, who has the same problem. John Speake would still have 2 sets of leaking Euro injectors! Roger would be begging people for spare injectors.
I knew it would take me hours to make 7 more. So, I had a choice. I could charge one customer for my time, or I could pay to have them made on a CNC machine, with the only requirement being that I'd need to make several hundreds of them, to make the programming and set-up worthwhile. Even using a CNC and making hundreds, I end up making a couple of dollars, per piece. I'll "break even", on my investment in about 5 years, if lots of people buy them. This benefited a bunch of other people....but cost me a few thousand dollars!
I didn't make these things to get rich. The profit margin doesn't justify a patent. I made them for the community...to solve a problem.
There's a very tiny percentage of people, out there, that do what I do and think like I think.
I work on these cars and develop products that help owners repair these cars....just hoping that someday, I'll break even on my investment in the number of pieces I need to make to break even....completely independent of the developmental costs.
If I quit making all pieces related to 928s tomorrow and went back to doing oil changes and brake jobs on every Porsche out there, my income would double or triple, instantly!
I'm 62. I don't need to work. I don't need much income, if any. I do this stuff because I love it. I love solving problems. I live helping people. I love these cars.
If people think they can make these things, at home, for less than the $15 a piece I sell them for....their time is one hell of less valuable than mine!
And like I said, in a previous post...you people can support the people that are honestly developing pieces for these cars, or you can buy copies or make things yourselves....but when I finally get fed up with the tiny group of trolls that enjoy taking pot shots at everything I do and I throw everything related to 928s into the trash....I think that keeping the 928 running is going to be a far tougher job.
You can call that ego, you can call that reality, I do not care. I know what I make. I know how many hundreds, if not thousands of 928 owners benefit from my work, my knowledge, my products.
This last round of bull**** about my replacement 300M clutch shaft not being stronger, better, and cheaper than the original just about did me in....very close to dumping everything into the dumpster and saying **** it.
If you think that benefits you and the 928 community, as a whole, keep it up.
If you think I'm doing things to help you and the community, as a whole, step up and tell the trolls to knock it off. Buy my stuff instead of "knocking it off", so I can afford to develop and built the next pieces...for your cars!

If you don't need the income, why would you demand the trolls stop and have people be cajoled into buying your stuff? You can't have it both ways.

A smart business man doesn't dip into their own personal pockets for every idea and endeavor.
If I need such a part I would rather pay a bit more to Greg to help further his 928 development versus giving the money to some VW parts supplier that has nothing else to offer me and my 928's.

And there we come back to the point I brought up before. People don't know all the stuff you are selling and without knowing that, it is tough buying stuff from you.
