Thank you all for your insight and assistance in my shark search. I found this one in NC on Autotrader.
1987 auto with a number of "tasteful" upgrades. No TB refresh though.
VIN : WP0JB0926HS860553

Looks very nice, with sports seats too and wear consistent with the mileage. They mention that most rubber was replaced, but I didn't see any detail on what wasn't - I'd check that the fuel lines were. Otherwise, you need to do all the usual checks, but a test drive will show if the mileage is believable and worth paying for.
Looks promising. Good luck!

Strange add.....trying to figure out what part he "restored " ....added wheels, steering wheel, and a double din a/v ? . Especially like that he will not sell to a dealer
The odometer reading is NICE paint sounds a bit tired and none matching chip repairs ! Ah yes he had the transmission rebuilt almost forgot that. Does mean the crank end play MUST be checked for preload and wear on the thrust bearing.

No rear air - that is pretty rare.

No flame. Looks quite nice. You say belt hasn't been done? Ever? Then I wonder if the coolant has ever been changed. I don't know what he means re not selling to a dealer; That statement is silly. Is he going to run a background check? Maybe he is a "secret agent man" OTH, no dealer is going to pay 17.5 unless it is for his personal use, so that is kind of a self regulating flex valve.

M28.42
A28.12
Code Option Description
018 Sport steering wheel with elevated hub
158 Radio "Monterey" - 86 "Reno" - 87
220 Locking differential
302 Type designated on rear end
340 Seat heating - Right
383 Sport seat - left
387 Sport seat - right
418 Protective side mouldings
490 Hi-Fi sound system
494 Amplifier system
533 Alarm system
650 Sunroof
Looks good - price is fair for the mileage, possibly a little higher than you can find if you keep looking, but in the ballpark, and judging by the outer bolster on the driver's seat, the mileage is accurate.
Engine bay pic doesn't show much - the picture quality is too poor. Stock (rare) steering wheel is missing, and I'm not a fan of hacking up the dash to fit a touchscreen, as that involves cutting the center console, not just replacing a trim piece.
Are you looking for an auto or a manual transmission?

Whether rear air is a benefit or not depends on where you're driving. The glass in back lets in a lot of heat when the sun is out here in Arizona. I'm not sure I'd want a 928 without the rear air for Arizona summers. I know it was a "must" when I was shopping for a car last summer.

Seat bottoms look a bit odd to me, shape a bit off from factory. Feels like a shine and flip to me.
OP I notice you are looking at low mileage nice looking mechanically neglected cars, are planning on not driving it much?

It would be nice to have a visual of a perfect 928 seat in order to see the flaws in this car's seats. It'll also help plenty of other people who are currently car shopping now and in the future.
Thanks!
