Leeroy should have made the trek up to Anaheim by now. It was transported today from my house to Greg's Shop.

GB is extremely busy right now, but he asked what kind of trans actually is in the car. I have been slammed at work so I never even crawled underneath the car ( its cold here - like 60 degrees) to see what it is /03 or /05.

As I discussed in this thread, it has a new Fuel pump and a new(ish) throw out bearing and pressure plate.

Greg asked above when he offered to help that people find a few different units to pull parts from.

Brendon:

Crawled underneath, this evening.

It's definitely a G28/03.

See what you can find for cores/pieces.

Thanks Greg. I'm glad it got there in one piece. It was tough finding a tow company that spoke English that would not want me to sign away my left ******** to get it 88 miles.

As mentioned, Devitos in Orange has two 03's sitting under a bench they are willing to sell. One is out of a wrecked car and the other was pulled in a swap to a newer transmission, so maybe less likely good synchros.

I offered to provide the labor to rebuild it.

It's up to Brendon to round up the cores/pieces.

Yet again you show your true colors Greg. You are not in business to make money, you truly are in a business you love. The world would be a better place if everyone had your attitude towards what they did.

I found that funny as well. I lived in SoCal for about 4 years and found it never cold there.

Correct, I will organize that process. We cannot take Greg's time more than he has offered. And we want to be conservative even with that.

Its because I am not in a hot stuff office. I sit where there is still AC on, right now. So when I walk out, I am still cold. Its difficult to describe. But clearly, my blood has thinned since I was in Chicago many years ago.

I've got two very low mileage 03s that both shift nicely (both LSD), and one 05 that has more wear (1st/2nd syncros) also LSD.
If it's an 05, I'll pitch it in (you pay shipping) sans LSD (ring will be inside the case).
The 03s I do need to get $$$ for.
What kind of $$

I have an G28/03 box I am willing to donate. However, BC or someone would need to come to my desert place and pull it. Motor is out and I have every tool necessary to drop it safely.

The box has 94k on it and shifts smoothly sitting there, but I have never driven it or dropped it and looked inside.

Please feel free to PM to make arrangements, if time and inclination is there.

Location, Lucerne Valley, CA 92356.

That's a great idea. I am not the community organizer that Rob is, however, and help will be needed.

You forget how slow I work. But I do have the truck to bring it home.
