What do you think about putting something like his shark design at the 12 o'clock position instead of the ! ?

Yeah, this...
As I pointed out, the P!g (Cayenne) is (in)famous for the '!'.
We're getting down to the wire. Let's give until Monday for any additional refinements and then we'll set up some voting...

The shape of the numbers in 928 can be adjusted to some degree and still be "factory." Compare the difference between the ones on the WS Manuals with the ones on the door sill. I would like the see them slightly taller and pushed out to the edge more eliminating the hour and a couple of minute marks in the chapter ring.

[!] is also on the 968 and 944 (mine is always on!)

I'd like to keep the marker for 9, as that will be lumed. And I think it will look more balanced with the '928' the same size and relative position as the day/date window. So, a little taller, and a little shorter.

Ok so the [!] is not unique to the 928 yet it's fairly recognizable. My thoughts are Shawn started this initiative and has expressed his desire to include the [!]. Therefore, I think it should be included.
My curiosity now is are the 'red hands' available? This originally started as a custom dial project that will fit in any number of Seiko cases. It was mentioned the day/date colors depend on the donor watch. No mention has been made regarding custom hands, but with a little google research I see many are available... just not ones like those depicted in the concept drawings.
That said, and with all the variation being considered... what would you think about being 100% black and white (face, hands, day/date) with only red in the [!]... in case red hands are difficult to source. If I knew how to photoshop, I would post this variation.

How about pushing the 928 out like I suggested and make the 9 luminous and solid and then make the 2 and 8 outlined like I did on my clock face? That way the 9 is more clearly doing double duty as both the name of the hour and as the first digit in the model number.

Are you going to provide complete watches?
That's the impression I have gotten.
But you mention finding a "Donor watch" above.
Is that for doing nonstandard stuff like day/date color?
So far designs 4 & 0 seem to be favorites. I'd be very happy with either of those.

I hope everyone realizes that there may be some changes as we shop around getting the watches put together for those that want a complete watch. There is the exact dimensions required, the capabilities of what can actually be printed, hand and case/band availability, etc. And I am sure ALL of that will depend on how many watches are ordered.
Found a web site with pricing for having one watch customized, you supply the parts, even with the $35 custom movement with face, hands, and stem would end up costing almost as much as the limited edition watch. So, I would not be interested in just the movement myself, only a complete watch.
One of the things I question is the minute marks. While they are on the dial of the dress watch, I think they are part of the chapter ring on a diver's watch. I don't know how much of the chapter ring covers the face itself. Also most all the faces on diver's watches have much bigger and bolder luminescent marks than dress watches. That is one of the reasons I wanted a band/case style to be chosen before I started mocking up face designs.
On the inclusion of a Porsche Logo and/or Crest. As a professional, I am not interested in creating artwork for anything that I know would be considered copyright or trademark infringement. If you want a Porsche logo, please find another artist.

- For $150, you can get a complete watch which uses the Seiko SNKE51 as the base. This is the watch being used in the designs. You can also Google that model number for more images.
- For $35, you can get a dial, which you can put into any Seiko watch which uses the 7S26 movement and has a 4 o'clock crown (as opposed to a 3 o'clock crown). This is a HUGE range of watches, including some chunky divers, like the SKX779. Most of these watches (the ones in the first post) will take the dial we're designing.
For me, that price is a dealbreaker, especially when I can get a slightly beat-up 007 diver on eBay for under $50.
The other issue being that we're going (and by we I assume me, since I took the lead on this) are going to have to collect monies, put an order in to Noah for dials, put an order in to Amazon for watches, mail the dials and watches to the watchmaker, mail the finished watches to the buyer.
Well, I guess that's doable...
Here's a Seiko:
Here is the same dial mounted in a SKX007 case (commonly called a 'Desert Diver):

I love Seiko watches. They're inexpensive, reliable, and infinitely modifiable. I've been away from Seikos for a few years now - by that I mean that I'm not actively buying more, but I still have a drawerful that I wear constantly.
I forgot how fun it is to plan the build of the next watch!
Here's a search for appropriate divers for this dial: Seiko diver eBay search
A bunch of chapter rings: 10 Watches Seiko chapter rings
Hands from the same site: 10 Watches Seiko hand sets
Here are hands from Harold: Yobokies hands
Endless possibilities!
