Id buy one..but I would prefer the OB clock style, and very muted in bling graphics.

The 9 being '928' in the right font, a ! at the top, and Major/Minor ticks for the other hour markings on the face..but no other numbers.

Funny, I was just about to post that I'd like to see something relating to the early models, and a bit less stylised than the previous 928 watch.

My personal preference would be the "928" as seen on the workshop manuals at the 9 position, and something like a 16" phonedial graphic positioned with the wheel center where the 3 goes. Other than that, no numbers, and maybe ticks similar to the early round clock?

edit: WSM 928 text logo as seen in this pic:

Yeah, I like the 928 at 9 o'clock in the OB style (like the manuals). I really like the '!' at 12 o'clock. Tachometer-style 3 & 6? Just hour indices?

Another question becomes: day/date window.

Harold suggested the SNKE51 as the base for those choosing that option. This is it:

And here with a strap:

Seiko 7S26 movements mostly have the same face size. The difference being that the larger cases will have a chapter ring, the smaller ones will not.

I'm leaning toward a tachometer-based design with the '!' at the top (nice element). I'm not sold on the silhouette, but I'm not averse to it, either. Same with emphasizing the design numbers (9, 2, 8).
Thank you Shawn. Most appreciated.

I also like some of the ideas I have read in this thread for a different design and I don't oppose elements of the old design being used in this new design. I just didn't want it lifted wholesale...

For instance I like "928" at the 9 o'clock position. I like a silhouette of an OB in some form.

I like that it will be built on a Seiko base so it will fit many different case styles. I like the Seiko watches I have had over the years. I will likely be a buyer...I only have like 30 watches so clearly I need a few more! LOL!

Looking forward to the progress on this.

I really like the look of the SNKE51 for the case. I also think the 928 in the 9 position with the Porsche 928 font would be perfect & awesome! No other numbers but the hour marks. Tach background works great, with the "!" at the 12 o'clock position. No OB phone dial background, or the flat dish either, even though to me that is more of what comes to my mind for a factory 928 wheel. I think a watch that covers most of all models works better. The silhouette at the bottom could be OB, but I personally like the look of the S4/GTS with the rear spoiler on a profile(and what about us with S3s?). No Porsche logo, your just tempting fate with the project getting lawyers involved(no offense to lawyers). No day/date window, I can't read em half the time, they usually are off a bit, and it only clutters up the design.

And have the numbers, hour marks, & hands be luminescent. Or maybe the 928 numbers at a minimum.

I would like to see a dial like that on a Motochron. Pablo posted one of these on his Flussig/Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/flussigmaga...ation=timeline. What about some variation on the 928 speedo or tach a la...

While those are cool watches, the reason I wear a watch is to tell the time. Those watch faces -- particularly with their half-hidden hour hands -- are not easy to read. Nice bit of art; not practical as an everyday watch.

Dial, not hands and function. Whatever.

Without seeing a rendition it's hard saying, but following are my initial preferences. I think I would like the 928 at 9, the ! at 12 (or crest if we can get away with it), split about day & date widow, but think it should be all or none, split about silhouette at the bottom.

I'd prefer a brushed or matte case, but am most concerned that what ever is selected blends properly to look right as in properly proportioned fonts, objects, hands, colors, finishes, ect. Also, it we don't put a car at the bottom maybe we could include the word "Automatic" or "Rogerbox" on the lower half to balance it out.

I'd take that right there & be happy! Would you be able to have the tach look with the day/date?
