I don't have them out, but I've got some old inj I might bring up to try. Since I haven't tried any cleaning with CIS yet it will be a new experience. The 308 folks have mixed reviews on it.

It all depends on how much money you want to dump in every engine. I have seen 32v cylinder heads for 350v8s.

I have a Mondial, which is the poor red-headed step child to the 308. Magnum never drove a Mondial.

Anyway, I've got some time in various 308s, and they are much more raw than the 928. No power steering, modest vac assist brakes, rattling doors, and maybe dash, very low polar moment of inertia. Point and shoot and it goes where you tell it. The mx on my Mondial hasn't been too bad. I've had the typical CIS issues that most deal with. Just replaced the fuel pump a few months ago, AC sketchy, slow window wind-up, various slight oil leaks that will never go away. Torn axle boots, lose front end bushings from high miles, and the typical rubber perish that happens to all 25YO cars.

The high point of the Mondial is the very low entry price, outstanding engine performance and great suspension and brakes. I wind it up with the top down and live to hear the snarl from the engine. It gets a lot of looks and although I can't outrun any modern sports car, it keeps up in the corners. My tires are too old to do much fun stuff, but I'll be getting new tires soon and I can wring it out better.

I see another problem, probably the root of all your issues --- Doc, you have WAY too many toys. Maybe cars, planes and other motorized toys are like shirts - you can never have too many --- but it looks like you are stretching it a little too far. You need a crew to help keep all your things in running shape. Fortunately, I now have only the one car, with a few motorcycles for backup.

I don't want to tally it all up. I've tried using a helper with the machines, but most of them are in a rush, and just muck things up worse. I let a kid work on my jetski which had a blown engine a few years back. Not only did he goof up the engine install, he mangled some of the wiring along the way.

It's all just a function of money. I could have paid a shop to put a new engine in the ski for $3400, but the machine was worth less than that to start with. I was thinking of getting a Navion this week, but things didn't work out. Prolly a good result.

You must be using OPM. Which is nice, if you can talk someone else into writing checks. At a quick guess, that engine as shown would run about $25k? maybe a bit more.
