Sorta broke? Is that like being almost pregnant?

Yeah, I can make a new one for you. Do you want me to bring it to Rendezvous or ship it out next week before heading down? Will shoot you a note here in a bit.

Ok, so here are the proposed modifications. There is now a mounting positions for the Derale 16796 PWM Fan Speed controller, and a 50A resettable breaker ( I will print a little cap to insulate the lugs). This will make those replacing a mechanical fan much easier.

https://derale.com/product-footer/el...r/16796-detail

I will include a small mounting block-off plate with an integrated mount for a 4-pin Weatherpack connector for external fan control. This plate can also be used as a mount for control relay or other custom applications.

Here are 3D models of both configurations:

Thanks

Hans: great you picking this up again, and very much like your additional modifications!

Please count me in for one, when you make this new batch (excluding the SPAL fans, as I will source those locally in Helsinki Finland from the Bosch dealer - as shipping those too does not make economical sense all the way from USA to Europe).

Just getting back to reinstalling mine after quite some time...
Anyone have a link handy to best wiring configuration for S3?
I had a thread along those lines on my phone, but its gone and having trouble relocating it.

Crickets.

Anyway- some of the adjustable fan controllers can be had with a threaded sending unit.
How about an adapter to screw into the OEM sending unit at the bottom of the radiator, and that adapts to NPT thread to accept the most common aftermarket sending unit configuration? Would a sufficiently resilient plastic of some sort be cost prohibitive?

I also had a air intake start to crack, we discussed three of four frenzys ago. Maybe I can catch up with you at the next one.

You may want to look at the Derale Fan controller. It has a sender that just sticks to the radiator endtank with 3M automotive adhesive tape. No adapter required.

Thanks, after a couple hours hunting, I finally relocated that controller, I bought it a couple years ago and it has the thread-together probe, I didn't pick up on the new style- definitely the easy button compared to my suggestion above....if not as subtle. I'm going to take a look at the plug in a CSF Radiator to see whether it can be worked up.
More immediately, I'll see if I can order the one in the updated kit, separately. I assume that the thinking is still that taking the temp near the oem location (lower corner) is preferable to near the upper hose.
OK, off to go find that coolant flow diagram.....
