VertexAuto---Way to go!
My 89 developed Pedalus Squishus and coming to a stop became....interesting.
My first instinct was to consult Rennlist and, as predicted, was a bad master cylinder.
I proceeded to search the interwebz to find one. 928 Intl has them but wants my liver, my eyes and one kidney. So I searched further. There must be a corollary that "all searches eventually end up on eBay". This quest was no different.
So far as I could find, there are no rebuild kits for cars newer than 86.5.
I found what I was looking for in short order, $269 with free shipping. And, it got here in two days. However, it was for a '77-'83 car. I called the number on the invoice and here's the best part.
I spoke with Charles, ext 211. What a terrific individual. He checked the ad on eBay, admitted the error, and told me that he'd send the right part out from the California warehouse as the east coast one was closed for the day already. He said to mail the incorrect one back, to call him when it was sent, to tell him how much the shipping cost and he'd refund that to me via PayPal.
Additionally, no additional charges, and I got the correct part today, waiting at the door when I got home. They sent it overnight express!
So, here's a huge THANKS to VertexAuto and though I never plug anyone's business here, I have to say I was so well-treated that I have to tell others to try them out and hopefully they will send you the right part first off but I can attest that they will make it right if there's an error.
Now....off to change the MC.

This is Tranya. I hope you relish it as much at I. Its a sad thing to remember Star Trek episodes 40 years later.
More to the point...I've had pretty good luck with Vertex in the past also. They don't have that much stuff for us, but what they have they offer at good prices.

I, too, have had nice dealings with Vertex. Picked up a great deal on a remanufactured steering rack from them and its held up nicely so far. Got a great deal on a new front spoiler too. They are a-ok in my book.

Well, there was the time me and two of my buddies were on a road trip and some doofus cop threatened to take the car.
I simply consulted with my fellow riders and agreed that we would destroy it before we let him do that.
"This is the owner of the car....destruct sequence one, code one, one A"
"This is the right seat passenger. Destruct sequence one. One A, two B"
Etc., etc.
The cop...an officer Bele, acquiesced and gave up.
*Note, this only works on '89's and newer cars with the computer. (with the aftermarket voice-recognition software)
Some time later we saw this same cop with a guy pulled over who had a plate that said "LOKAI". Looked really pale on the side I could see. Hope it all worked out.

^^^^^ Not sure what that has to do with Vertex Auto but I too got an MC from them. It was the proper one and was cost effective with quick delivery. I like to buy from the "locals" but sometime vertex has good deals. And they have a good site that you can order from 24-7.

OK....so....maybe not but it DOES have something to do with the underriding ST theme here.
Swapped the MC in about two hours. The biggest problem was the left side mounting nut that is all but impossible to get to. My ratcheting box wrenches are elsewhere and the 13mm nut cannot be seen and you can only get about a 15-20 deg wrench spin on it. Took quite awhile to put that nut on.
Brakes work as they should and no more pedal to the floor behavior.
