The car is still in the body shop. I requested a conjagul visit but I was denied.

Says it will be ready Tuesday (again).

The motor rebuild has been more in depth than expected. We were shooting for it to be ready before SITM but we all agree that we don't want to rush greatness.

I will have the stock motor and exhaust set up for the trip to NC.

Pics just in from the body man. It was primered over the weekend and in final black now. It will go back to the same guy for color sanding and clear at the end of the summer. I will pick it up tomorrow and will drive it to SITM next weekend!!!!!

Welded up S4 spoiler holes

Rust was bad on both qtr windows

Antenna delete

Rear wiper delete

He even fixed the inside of the hatch where I had mangled it to secure the spoiler.

Front spoiler holes welded

The hood, the roof and the driver fender were the worst victims of the keying job. They took the most time

More pictures came in the middle of the night. I hope that he just thought of sending them before bed and was not burning the midnight oil..

He has had the car since 4/20.

I'm sure I've missed some details along the way...
But it appears it's still missing the motor. Correct?
And you're planning to drive it to SITM in one week?
Wow. That seems pretty ambitious and optimistic.
Major kudos if you can accomplish that Brian...

Mark the 79 still has the original 4.5 L engine installed. The original plan was to have the body work completed by May 1. It was then going to have a freshly rebuilt euro S, 4 .7 engine installed.
We ran into delays at the body shop, and then issues with rebuilding the euro S engine.
They rebuilt engine will be installed in June. And the repaint will be finished in August.

Took this shot this morning. Went on a short drive in town this afternoon and hope to shake out a few cobwebs before Friday.

Thanks Austin, it is a labor of love.

Or just insanity, not sure yet.

Installed the new fuel accumulator and fuel filter this morning. This is the same car that is in my avatar.
