Rub Strips - Delete them or not?

Hopefully the '89 GT will go into the shop for body work and a complete repaint in the next week or so. I can't make up my mind if the rub stribs should be deleted in the process, so I would appreciate opinions. Please let me know what you think.
Thanks.

I'd say delete them. Just my opinion though.

I like the look without them and recommend you delete... but ONLY if you dont plan to drive / park it anywhere. I drive mine often. When I park I'm a million miles away from anyone else. When I come back there are cars on both sides, front & back... My rub strips have NUMEROUS marks in them from doors - all of them prospective door dings that didnt happen. The rub strips have paid for themselves many times over. Form over function... not always the best way to go. Its your call

It makes a huge difference on black cars.
Rub strips just ruin the lines.
