Exactly - I do not know where mine came from, I am so careful to park far away from eveyone when I take my 928 out for a romp or into town.

 

One day in not so distant future people will install them back when they restore 928's back to original condition.

Agreed. While the 94 was in for paint, had them painted just in case I ever sell the car and the next owner wants them. T

 

Or made it better by hiding the imperfection in the reflection!

 

My red car has brown, my gray car has burgundy.

Burgundy would look stupid in the red car but looks good in the gray car.

I've never had the opportunity to compare but I would think burgundy would look better than brown in a white car and I'm not a fan of black or blue. What else is common in white cars?

I am looking for a black passenger side rear fender rubstrip for my 91. If anybody is willing to part with theirs. Mine has a lot of dings on it.

 

I don't have them, but I don't mind them. I hate to say it, but I think I would leave them on...

 

Seeing as the doors are aluminum, and I tend to drive the car, I think I'll leave 'em on. But If anyone wants to part with theirs, I'll take them - as the ones on my car are bubbling from rust jack on the inside.

 

Ummm... it's a GTS. How else is the reflection supposed to look across those quarter panels?

And yes... go without!

 

Denny, Denny, Denny, that is how a perfect sided GTS is supposed to reflect. The rear quarter panel flares from the door pillar towards the rear.

 

I seriously dislike the rub strips on my red car and plan to remove them some day. Just wondering, in looking at the back of the strip in post 63 it occurred to me that you may be able to spray something like WD40 along the top of the strip and over time (like this winter ) dissolve the glue to remove these without damaging the paint. Anyone try this?

 

Yes, I understand, and am not suggesting that there is something "wrong" with that car.

That is without a doubt a beautiful car and color.

I am just saying that, from that angle with that lighting and that color, I think it might look better with rub strips.

 

Took mine off, filled the holes. Looks much cleaner without them. For the record acetone works great for removing the adhesive residue, and it does not damage paint. In fact everything i've painted on my 928 i've prepped/wiped with acetone just before paint.
