Shawn, I’m flattered. This car and I have been through a lot, so it pains me to see her sit. The largest obstacle here is money. I want to get her fully restored before I put her on the road, if I had the cash she would have already been to the body shop.
Scott (drscottsmith) has inspired me, and I am feeling like this is the year I will try to get her prepped for paint and learn how to do some body work. I have already refurbed the cluster, the center console is good, and I have replacement rear seats. The carpet is ok, but faded, could probably survive a wash and re-dye. Just need some front seats, and a replacement rear console. Might have to recover the rear quarters tho...vinyl is shrinking. The dash is horrible, but it’s coming out very soon and I am going to try some home restoration on it.
mechanically, she is ok...smokes a little, and the passenger side exhaust manifold is very broken...I have a replacement.
here she is in current state:

didnt accomplish much yesterday evening after the video...my oldest daughter brought her car over, making a strange noise...found that a bolt had come out on the front right brake caliper...weird...and certainly not safe. Had to run all over town trying to find a Toyota caliper bolt....but it’s all fixed now and she is safe....hopefully I’ll get some time today.

Thanks guy! I have 2 girls and a wife, so they always got some sort of car issues.....the lift was worth every penny....don’t think I would have cought the caliper bolt if I wasn’t able to walk under the car.

Keep truckin on Ron I saw this beast early on when you started and have had the pleasure of seeing the progress made. I am glad that the parts car has been used wisely.

Thanks Harvey. As far as the parts car goes, she has been helpful to me on my projects, and in the spirit of giving, some of her parts have traveled to other members to help them out as well. All thanks to you.

Just glad we got the parts car for almost nothing. Then knowing she has been able to help other cars. It makes me smile knowing she can be used to save other cars.

Quick little ditty about jack and.....oh, wait... quick note about #30....
new to me seats all greased up (leather jelly) and getting bagged for storage. (Don’t mind the stray bits of dry grass and leaves, they got removed).
these will go in 30....in about 2 years....
thanks again for hooking me up Chris! (Landseer)

Ron,
Your dedication continues to amaze me.
Soaking the leather in conditioner and bagging the seats works well. I have done it a few times and put a hair dryer on low heat blowing in to accelerate the process and done it a few times in succession.
Enjoy!
