Official #30 Revival / Rescue Thread

#30 got a little overdue attention this weekend. My new parts car has an excellent windshield. Lined up an auto glass shop to come try to remove it and install on #30, under the caveat that they are not responsible if it cracks, and I remove the trim…
so spent Saturday removing all trim pieces from the 87, and got it ready to go..then realized that #30, although she had no windshield, had all the black goo, impregnated with glass shards, all around the opening still…ugh.
put on an old coat, glasses, gloves, and put a wire wheel on my side grinder, and went to town…took me most of the day today, but finished with a nice primer coat, waiting for the glass man!

I’m thinking, with no windshield, this is the best time to remove the dash…something I started to do a year ago…
I already have refreshed the gauges (like 5 years ago), so time to rebuild the pod and dash…
I have a replacement fuel distributor for her as well, so my intent is to have her running and moving under her own power (again) by mid-summer.

ALSO….
Friday February 18th was the 10-year anniversary of finding #30 and being bitten by the 928 bug…
This car has gotten me through some dark times, and is a joy to work on….hopefully I’ll have her done before the 20th year!
here are the pics of the day I found her…for those of you who don’t want to start over in the thread!
