Now that the car is running and dry, it's time to dive into a few other issues.
#1 was the Driver-side headlight. High-beam worked fine, but not the low. DR had installed a set of HID's which work great with the H4 lenses. I first looked at the bulb, but it was fine (which I should have known since the high-beam worked). THen I looked at the fuse. That looked good too. Hmmmm....
I started checking voltage. 6V! WTF? Then it went to 11. Then down to 5. Something was very fishy.
I went back to the fuse panel. Swapped fuses with the passenger-side. Now everything worked. Swapped it back and things died again. But the fuse looked fine and tested okay.
Then the final check I noticed one of the prongs on the fuse was crooked. Ah ha! The filament in the fuse was cracked, but not burned. I swapped the fuse and all was fine.
Of course I took both wheel liners off and poked around looking at the ballasts and igniters, so this whole operation took the better part of 2-3 hours. There was a friendly visit from my pimp/homo and a few beers were drunk.
Next up is the alignment. The inside edges of the front tires is almost to the cords.

Last night was the local beer night. My son grabbed this video for me as we went through a tunnel.
Oh, and now neither headlight works... WTF!

Need a longer tunnel!
We have one under the airport here in Vegas that is One of these days i will get my GoPro hooked up.
Have to get the tranny fixed though.
Well done getting it running. I always liked that car. Im sure DR is happy it is in good hands.
OT.. have you ever sent the blower off to have it rebuilt. I may do that while the car is down for a while.

Hi Andrew I have missed your progress on this, anyway it looks great,
I hope you get many happy miles with this bad boy.
The lights may need to have the CE panel cleaned do all of the relays and the fuses
I wasn't sure what bolt in the your talking about that bushings are loose.
I know that the LCA to the lower cross member bolts get torqued to 140 ft.lbs,
and they are usually loose,
this can be seen where the eccentrics will wear away the eccentric stops.
NOTE if under full power then lifting the rear shifts then these bolts are possibly loose,
if they are tight, then fitting new bushings should cure the sway.
They are a bitch to remove and install,
the old bushings will seem like they are just as hard as the new ones,
you will see a difference though,
I have replaced a few sets.
This sway is more noticeable with higher powered cars.
Note from the looks of the cam pulley event,
the bolt was loose and or the gear had oil on it,
so it was able to slide,
I hope you installed a new cam bolt with the new US cams and pulleys,
as they can overtightened and thus lose their stretch

There's a nice long tunnel at DTW. Might have to give that a try.
Never had the SCers rebuilt. The bearings seem to be in good condition, so I punted. :crossing_fingers:

I agree that the CE panel needs to be gone through and cleaned up. Could also be the relay. I will have to investigate further.
The LCA issue I think is related to either the "trough bolt" that goes through the bottom of the shock or the bushings in the LCA. Not sure yet. Need to pull it apart to find out. I was reading a post on the bushings and they don't look fun, but I think I can manage. Thanks for you insight.
As for the cam and sprocket issue, I'm pretty sure it was all because of the distributor belt failing. I did not use a new bolt, but that might not be a bad idea. I'll put it on the list just to be safe.

I thought I would provide a quick update on the car.
I've been driving it quite a bit lately and got it to the track last Thursday. The car is running really well. I think I can add a few degrees of timing back in to give it a little more "umpf" in the mid range. I still have to fix a few minor issues like the ABS, and the collapsed bumper shock. But all in all the car has been a dream and gets lots of compliments.
This was from the track day on Thursday. The gold car is DaveK's "Onion" car.
More photos can be found here thank to Mark H, our Sharks in Hell host! https://plus.google.com/photos/+Mark...5527217?sort=1
