nice build PorKen!! Can you flip us some details? that coin holder isn't that useful when the tolls are all measured in dollars.

They aren't useful at all when you don't use toll roads.

I hope to have time to work on the deployment mechanism again soon. (Not as easy as I hoped.)
What's cool is, the passenger side door panel has a cutout for the coinholder too. (You can feel it through the carpet.)

The Fischer cup holder is a really nice design. They design a lot of the OEM cup/CD/etc. holders.

I found the cheapest price here.
Did you ever make any progress on this? I have two of these style cupholders and the door panels out of my car so was curious. Thanks.

The Walmart wedge one works much better if you cut the "handle" from a standard cup holder and glue the "basket" in the wedge's cup holder. Here's what I mean by standard cup holder.

No. I wish. A cupholder solution confounds me. The coin holder spot would be perfect, but I decided it needed a custom mechanism, which is currently beyond me. There's also wasn't an easy way of attaching it to the metal door for stability.

Those nice folding ones don't quite fit right in the hole, although that area is near perfect for a cupholder. Plan-B is to statically mount one of those, hanging down, to a bracket in the coinholder location.

I'm going to play around with it. I'm thinking if i cutaa couple slots into the bottom of the cup holder assembly, then mount a couple of aluminum L-brackets to the door with a screw through them into a t-nut which is inside the cup holder and cut down so it's just a hair longer than the thickness of the cup holder, I'll be able to tighten the screw and still have it able to slide out in the grooves. I'll need a little strap attached to the cup holder assembly so I can pull it out from the recessed position.

Note the coin holder hole is angled upward...which is another problem of having it slide out. Ideally it would slide out and rotate to horizontal.
