Jim,

Would you mind taking a picture or two showing how this cup holder is connected? Is it just screwed into the panel?

Thanks - E

Google search is your friend (using VW double folder cupholder eurovan) = $40 source (no affiliation):

Thanks for the tip!

for sale, one very used Wally wedge cup holder...cheap
Be careful.

From that website: "This part replaces only the cup holder portion—the base is required for installation, and it is not available for sale."

If you look at the provided VW van pics, you will see a separate "base" that the cupholder is attached to. The unit for sale is intregal as a cupholder but with the VW there is a need to bring it away from the seat. Ergo, the "base", which is not available or included.............and not needed for our use.

Cool. Thanks for the clarification.

Given that is the case, I might order a couple - I wonder if they ship to Australia?

They do, but you need the special upside down mounting adapter.

Hmmm, maybe I could just use it with northern hemisphere cups instead of the local, upside-down, ones.

I wish these vendors would sell a set (cup-holder, and matching cups).
That way it wouldn't matter WHERE it was installed - north OR south of the equator.

This one went on a bit longer than I thought it would. Wanted to see how it played out!

Still...

The correct answer is #5. Finish the drink before getting in and drive the car. Going hard or easy, a beveridge is a distrcation from enjoying a supercar!

It won't hold a cup, but then the only drinks allowed in my car are water bottles. Nets and attachment brackets are Mercedes parts.

That goes in the coinholder cutout? Sign me up! That makes the most sense of any suggestion I've seen.

Makes sense. It is, after all, the driver side in any right hand drive country.
