Sterling,
Thanks for putting the site back up. Good luck with the car, whichever way you ultimately decide to go. It's an awesome effort, no question!

Regards,
Joe

You clearly have way to much time and caring and money invested to toss it away IMHO.

If I was closer, I would be having a sit down to discuss other ways to work through your considerations.
Come on man, your perfectionist attitude should be realigned to get back in the game!
what he said..
I would get a local storage place...tow it over..put it in..cover on..pay the place X amount a month and go back in 5yrs.

I feel like I have seen this whole thing come full circle!! Kinda sad.

I think the bottom line for anyone looking at this is the car its self. I dont know what it requires to get it running but the rest of the car is truely a unique 928 even in a not running state.

IF i were to buy it i would drop a stock motor in it, add some boost and be done.

Sterling...whats the next project? Anything in the works? Hate to see you go. Hopefully things will calm down and there will be a moment of reflection...if not....Hope you still stay a part of the group even though you would not be an owner.

Does this also apply to the viscous PM you sent me? If so, I'd prefer a personal apology.

I started the "Sterling is a *****" thread about 3 years ago and it was the most epic, 100 page thread in the 928 forum. It was not started as a bashing thread at all, and it ended up being the "community thread" were we all just talked about anything and everything. If joe wasn't getting any poon from his wife, we talked about it. If Randy V wasn't getting any ***** from his man, we ignored it but let it slide on the thread.

John D (starter of Rennlist) saw the thread and took the first two posts of the thread, went ballistic and deleted it. He has since realized that the thread was nothing like he thought it was and has since agreed it was one of the better threads since it did nothing but brought the community together for fun and games.

On to now, Sterling has done what most of us wish we could do with $150,000.00 in funds to a car, make it the ultimate driver. As to why he's gone off the deep end, I don't know but I hope my friend gets his bearings back and gets a new thought process on all of this.

My thoughts exactly.

Weekend #1 - install stock S4 engine
Weekend #2 - install stage-3 boost
Weekend #3 - replace the now bald rear tires

guys................................all of "us" have far too much $$$ (based on our individual finances) in our 928's.....for some its $150K....for others it might be $10k......but either way we stress and catch heat from our "significant others" over our 928 habit.....Sterling is no different, just on a bigger scale like other 928ers on this list....sure it gets frustrating at times and you think about throwing in the towel like we ALL DO....but then you chill out, look up some old pics of your sexy 928 when it RAN and SMILE....

I honestly hope Sterling keeps his 928...maybe store it for a year or more.....then come back to it when the time is right.... Lord knows I have thought about this concept....but I am far to ignorant-stupid to do it....I insist on pouring cash into the "Black hole" that is known as "928 Racing"..... Why do I do it? Honestly I don't know.....it must be a combination of masochism and stupidity...knowing my "boss" watches every penny..........

Bottom line, its an addiction.......that I refuse to give up no matter what it costs :>)

OK, if you are serious about selling, how about posting some pictures? I bet there are plenty here who have never seen your car.

Very well put Iceman, this is true for all of us on Rennlist who have been here for more than a few months (after which i think it is impossible to leave Rennlist). Relative to our available funds, socioeconomic situation, we have all hypothetically put as much as Sterling has into his 928, same ratio.

Sterling, don't leave man, you are an aspiration to many 928 Rennlisters. I hope my 928 is as nice as yours one day.

Dude has gone rational on us. Cool.

SG gets to choose what his current and future passions are. I pass no judgement whether the car sells or is placed in storage.

Do what you want to do, by all means! Good luck!
