I don't care what your beef is, but removing years of contributions to the forums (when you've heavily benefited from participating here yourself) is not cool. To then come back here to try to sell your car without providing any info is an interesting tactic...

Which is why many question the seriousness of this sale since very few people have the information stored in their noggin to fully understand what this car is all about.
To limit your potential buyers to only these individuals while asking a premium for a 928 doesn't really add up.
+1. What's the point for asking all that money when a prospective buyer who is not an "old timer" cant even find any info on it? Sounds like a cool car and it would be interesting to read about it.

Erasing documentation on a one of a kind prototype product for sale brings value from Circa $50k to Circa $5k.

Irrational.

I truly hope this ends well for everyone involved. Best outcome I can think of is a new Leeroy, but I do wish SG gets to see some coin. Good luck!

He's been doing big-league Porsche engine development and adaptation work. Massive projects.

This is all a cry for attention. He does this from time to time. I think it might be time to bring the "Sterling is a *****" thread back from the abyss. The car is really cool. Nobody argues that point. But the owner is a little "needy". I guess that's not a huge deal. We all have our faults. But I wont be playing his game Not this time.

I don't know what type of guy he is, i've never met Sterling. Calling him out as a "*****" is real low though... why don't some of you try doing what he has done, then talk ****. He pretty much beat his own path AFAIK with that motor project, engineering and testing, all his own money, etc.

He should just do what he likes, if he wants attention he could build up a Chev motor and drive around with 1100HP or something like that, but i think this goes way deeper than wanting attention.

Found a vid of Sterling's car running.

17pb,

There is years of back history you are unaware of.
Find the old thread sterlings a ***** by seanr though it may have had its name changed I cannot recall.

I've met Sterling and he is a nice guy. But sometimes asks for attention on the boards.

I agree we should cut him a break. Maybe he is having personal problems. I used to play golf 3-4 times a week. A year or so after my divorce I walked away from the game. I had no interest in it. Life happens, we move on we find other interests. Maybe wait to crucify him.

I don't know the full history. I shouldn't offer any input into this. I'm just saying the guy has obviously put large amounts of money, time, and brainpower into this project, so i don't think he desserves shabby treatment.

Sterling i would say go ahead with the project. You've made it this far. It sucks that the first motor build consumed alot of oil thanks to the shop doing the work. You should put 928SG website back up for all to view so that people are more aware of this.

high end super custom strokers are HARD to sell..... By nature they end up highly customized by their owners......which reduces the number of potential buyers.... Of course the piles and piles of cash spent makes it impossible to recover even 50% of your cash outlay..... Louie never sold his, arguably the most famous of all street strokers & his price was (is) quite fair.... Andersons is for sale, but has a blown engine.... The only ones that have traded hands have done so at a VERY discounted price
