Default New 928 Owner Intro

Hello All,

I may have just purchased the ugliest 928 ever. No, I am not crazy! I just always wanted a 928 and I figured I couldn't lose buying one this cheap. It may be a parts car for some future project of mine or it could be my project. Hasn't run in years and looks it. I know these things are expensive to resurrect so worse case scenario, I have parts

As you can see from the background, I like parts

It was sold as an 82 but is actually an 81. 5spd, sunroof.

Cool.. nice to have a new owner thread with pictures in the first post

You're er.. brave

So come on then... lets get 'er running!

Clean up that 14 pin connector, oil the cylinders, turn it over a few times by hand, and get a freshly charged battery into the battery box. You never know, it might have been parked for something as simple as a fuel pump relay

For the fun of it, make the spider engine look like a really big *** genuine spider. Then tell some buddies you bought a fixer upper Porsche that has been sitting in an abandoned garage for years and then have them pop the hood.

Great. At least he wants to try to keep one more on the road rather than heading to the crusher. Remember the speed yellow GTS seen on the truck in another thread. Wish that owner had half the initiative this new guy has.

Thanks for all the replies. I like learning the hard way I paid 800 dollars for the car. It was taken off the road for a no crank issue. I have researched the board and found lots of help so I have many things to try. Engine turns over manually and the oil looks clean. 110k on the odo and no service history (yikes!). I like fiddling. My 98 was a nice clean car from the start but I still wound up doing just about everything to get it up to my standards. I am looking forward to it. If I lose, I lose. Its a hobby.

I'm guessing the front passenger side is red from the engine picture. Either repainted black and never finished or was in an accident and they had to replace that side from another car.

Jeff: I just meant, this is a huge come back when fixed to any degree. Glad it's being saved. This car should go into a new thread or sticky documenting "Biggest Save", could start some contest here.
