Oh, one more thing...and I do not want to be a buzz killer, nor do I accept completely the content or tone of this email..., but I feel compelled to at least post one of the typical emails Jeannie and I get around SITM time.

Subject: sharks

Last year my family was put in jeopardy while driving on the parkway. There were several 928 drivers racing and we almost had a head on with one of them. They were passing on a double yellow in a 35 mph zone, at very high speed.

I hope your group has more respect for people than last year. I wish you could get the word out. If you want to race, rent a racetrack.

Someone is going to be hurt if these xxxxxxxxx continue.
Paul Armbruster

AND as a reminder that unfortunately he is not completely off base...

I would be happy to live the rest of my life never having to see this again...

So yes please have fun and enjoy yourselves, BUT PLEASE drive Carefully, Safely, and yes, even respectful of other drivers.

Thanks!!

Man... I wish I could have made it again this year. Got a whole new body (well half of one) that I could have shown off. I'm still planning on OCIC, so I guess that will have to be the big reveal.

You boys have fun.

Here's a quick photo I remember from a previous SITM that always puts a smile on my face.

Let's pretty please not go too OT on this subject, I just wanted to try and be responsible and make a "Please Drive Safely" reminder post.

The thought of anyone possibly getting hurt,.. to, from, or during SITM has literally given me plenty of nightmares over the years....not sure if I could continue SITM if that ever happened.

Concerning your old cab, can't recall if Tarek ever fixed it or not.

FWIW, Tarek is a great guy and one of the nicest people I have met, I wouldn't ever say he is a "loon".

But, at that particular moment in time, I do have to say he was acting like a "loon"....but chit happens, and any of us that have never been a "loon" before can go ahead and cast the first 928 piston..... It for sure won't be me, I have had so many "loon" moments.... I am certifiably LOONY TUNES!! :-)

Still wish you could make it this year, or next, or next, or.......I'm not going to stop asking each and every year. :-)

Cheers,

Dave

Andrew,

In my best David Spade "Coneheads" voice: "He will be missed"..."Super guy"...:-)

Half of a "New Body? Did someone sideswipe your GT?? ..or worse??? I hadn't heard about that!

Yeah, always thought that was a great pic of your RED Beastie too! I will miss seeing and hearing it tear up the roads around here this year (in a safe responsible way :-)

Cheers,

Dave

Couldn't have been us. We had no such close calls. And we use two way radios for passing. Plus, we never really get above 60-65 unless we're passing. Always smart to drive carefully and enjoy the BRP scenery.

Courtshark,
Good to know. I don't have a need to test the handling of the car or the skill of the driver (me) on a road like the BRP. However, I do need to keep moving at a steady pace as I choose to fix the PS over the AC for this trip

The car hasn't changed since you last saw it. I have, however. Down about 60# since last year.

He's not half the man he used to be.

Good for AO. Hope to see you at Sharks in Hell.

Andrew,

OK gotcha...that is great news and certainly better than having to put half a new body on the GT!

Hopefully it won't be windy at SITM next year..you will blow away!!

Wait....it you are still wanting to "show off your body" next year....I am going to rethink the "Sharks at the Pool" Pool Party for next year's SITM,... or at least impose a "NO SPEEDO ZONE"......ha ha!! J/K

All the best,

Dave

Sorry I'll miss the BRP drive this year, but I'll meet you all down there on Friday! Courtshark's right tho - we didn't any close ones or even a pucker moment - almost no traffic all the way there last year, it was great!
