It Has Come To The End Of An Era
It's an empty feeling somewhat. I watched my GTS rumble away this weekend. A bit sad as I watched that awesome machine leave my life. It was my most ambitious project, the pinnacle of my 928 ownership and certainly brought back the rewards many times over. After 5 928's it's time for me to move onto another badge...who knows...maybe one of those 928's with the engine in the back . Not immediately, but in time. I know what I want, but I just don't know what I want if ya what I mean. I'll take the time and just enjoy my Audi A4 S-Line Avant Quattro for the time being. Been years since I've owned just one vehicle...feels weird.
Joined RL Forum right about from the beginning. I learned a ton, seen many faces/cars come and go...and most now, I don't even recognize. Without RL, I wouldn't have accomplished most of what I have, including any innovations I brought to the 928 community. Things change, just as the 928 community has over the years, including me. Anyway, I am sure I will drop in from time to time and throw in my .928 cents worth, enjoy someone else's pride of ownership and of course, **** a few people off. I do have a bunch of 928 parts I need to sell and will post them here on a FS thread.
Thanks to all of you whom have helped me and been my comrades over the years in the 928 world. If was a fun run!
So for now, I leave you with my cars/projects over the years. (FWIW, gave away my cabriolet just recently...never got around to making that vision a reality).
Keep the rubber side down!
MY 1982 (My 1st 928)
MY 1982 ROW (Was to be the donor car for the cabrio)
MY 1979 Porsche NA Exec Car
MY 1985 S
MY 1993 GTS (from the last pictures taken)

Hey Keith.. Don't be a stranger.... keep an eye on our local list (if you are on there)...our events are open to former owners too ...
BTW..I'm sure it's been said before..but thanks for all you've done for the 928 community... Your hosting of one of the first Sharktoberfests I attended was top notch... The Petersen Museum was over the top..
Cheers...

Thanks for the good times Keith, lots of fun memories starting back to the early DEVEK days.
I think anyone who has gone monochrome on an early body style owes you a shout out.
Even though you're out of 928's, you're still in the fold. When you get your next performance ride, come join us at one of track days, we promise not to hold it against you. ha ha.

Keith--
Keep the faith my friend. 928's are in your blood and, like a virus, never really completely disappear. I'm sure that you'll more than do justice to whatever you end up with. Most folks manage to make it through life with less than a dozen cars, and my observation is that the same average person selects a series of similar but very boring rides to carry them through life. You've managed to beat the odds handily, with more than half of the avarage fleet just in 928's. Cars that most dream of but never experience even once. Think how blessed we are.
Safe travels, and remind us regularly where you are and what you are doing.

Keith: Seriously, look again at your pics, as posted, top to bottom. Except for the last one, each has a story and uniqueness, partially due to your vision. Now the last one is good for getting from point A to B, but I don't see the person who created those other 928s being happy w/o one. As you say, maybe it will be another badge, but I hope you stay thirsty, as the ad says. What about that 308 in TN that is FS?
