Is this the correct oil, that you are all talking about, for 5-speed trannies with LSD?

i would use the redline 75-90 NS / with half non NS mix
i wouldnt mess with mobil 1. never tried it, but redline seems to be proven under racing conditions.

If it is good enough for Porsche to put into the Porsche Cup Cars (and they have lots of plates in their limited slips) from the factory...it will work great in your 928 transmsison.

uggg Greg.. Mobil 1 is also used in the cup cars engines.. and we know how that oil performs in our cars!

the fact that we have less plates puts more responsibility on the fluid. dont know much about mobil 1 gear oil, but i have never had a leak in many transmissions using redline. scots, and all of my 928 racers over the years. no transmission leaks.

Gear oil is not the same as engine oil. Mobil 1 LS gear oil is great stuff and works well in our gearboxes and works well oin our limited-slip diffs (LSD and PSD).

I've got a 250,000 mile GTS engine apart, which has lived on Mobil 1 since the beginning.

Rod bearings looked like new. Zero cam wear.

While not my favorite oil, hard to argue with this reality.....

So even when the tranny and LSD uses the same oil as in the 928, we should use the Mobil 1 LS gear oil? The gearbox and sync rings will not take harm from the LS ingredients?
It isn't like the LS oil is meant to go in separate "standalone" differentials?
