After inspecting my seal it looks like the last 10-15 cm of the seal are loose.Maybe mounting with WD 40 was a bad idea or car wash put to much stress on the back end of the rubber and the seal leave the mounting position.
But in the middle of the seal is another area without pressure on the window.
I think the greatest disadvantage of the seal is it´s without the formpiece at the back of the window like the oem piece.
Maybe the seals must glued in at the last few cm.

3M makes a pretty good window rubber adhesive product that I've used before to attach these kinds of window seals. After reviewing the install video Roger posted on YouTube the first thing that popped into my head is that instead of using soapy water as a lubricant I think I'll try this glue. Just make sure you tape everything off first and work quick. If I remember correctly it works more like a contact cement but can be used as a standard adhesive, and it's messy. FYI, this stuff is not for front windsheilds for obvious reasons. Maybe someonne who's worked with similar products can chime in. My thought is that if I do it right the installation will last another 27 years.

I have them installed on my car, they do a good job however mine seem to be a little short ( a few mm) and where it fits in the curve section at the rear is a little messy.
I suspect at some point I will replace them with the proper seals as I like things spot on.

Sorry Roger, I blasted off an email as soon as I read the first post, and without noticing the date. Still interested in a set of these or the OEM ones if these are not suitable.

i re-used mine after the laborious and costly re paint due to the price. (annoyed Wife) I am interested in a set if this moves forward,
if the curve isn't quite right on the repro we can "cut and paste" the OE curve to the new repro part. That would be fine with me at 110/pair.
The curve on my originals are fine anyway, and the memory they have makes re-installing easy.
-used a rubber care product to aid in installing mine, that was serious finger fatigue
Interested Roger

All testing proved very succesfull indeed. We have sold over 100 sets now. I have them on my own cars.
A number of owners fitted them at OCIC in Wichita last year.
The only issue is where there is a slight upward curve at the rear end of the seal. The original $400 seals are molded due to the slight upward curve. The aftermarket seals require some slight manipulation to emulate the original.
The original seals are a bear to fit and it seems that the AM seals do fit easier.
Plenty in stock and $130 a pair.
Added the pictures of my own GTS with the AM seals. Escuse the dirt as it rained last night. They have been fitted for well ove a year with zero issues.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

I had just purchased a pair from Roger and installed. I did used a bit of WD40 instead of soap water and the installation went smoothly without too much effort. The result is wonderful and I am happy. Btw the installation video helped me a lot. Thank you.
