MaxJax garage lift 1 year follow-up report
I have had my Maxjax garage lift for a little more than a year now apart from a lift cylinder issue (resolved by DanMar under warranty without any hassle) I feel that this has been the best tool I got to make life easy when it comes to maintaining my car.
I spoke with Danmar's Maxjax department head today and when I asked if they would consider another group buy he said yes.
So if there's an interest to form a new group and any of you guys are would like to be the coordinator for a group buy than let me know and I'll pass on his information to you.
I'm only passing on the word!

I used mine over the weekend to do a brake and suspension inspection on the babiest brother's Altima. Had to move the columns in so the arms would reach under to the pick points. Yesterday and this morning, the 928 was backed in to the garage for trans and differential fluids swap. Sometime next week Karen's 4Runner will spend part of a day with wheels and suspension off for some refurb. It's just so much more convenient with the MaxJax. I was looking at the array of jack stands sitting gathering dust on the bench. I gave away a couple pairs of 3T stands at SITP last year, but still have another two pairs of 3T and another 2 pairs of 6T stands just waiting for something to do. A pair of 3 ton stands was called into service last year... to hold the lift arms at a low height to make the intake swap more convenient. I wish the option had existed 20 years earlier.

When I first read about this lift, I didn't think it was worth the money as compared to other options, but I'm coming around. The versatility of multiple mount points to change the width or even to use it in multiple garage bays is very tempting.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but the big question I have for MaxJax owners is, do you really have enough room to work under the car with the limited height? Seems you're either going to be on a short stool or your knees when working under the car. Is this a problem as oppossed to standing under the car?
The reason I ask is that I'm planning on building a detached garage and installing a lift and I was going to go the route of a four post lift similar to what Bill Ball has. The MaxJax would be nice, just worried about the limited height capability that it has.

Here's Herman's original thread w/ price, clearance, etc: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...ill-close.html
When I quit moving, I'm getting one--laying on the floor is for young people.
