The original antena that was on the car looks as if it is missing some of the plastic jacket. Figured I try this 5" carbon fiber antena i found on ebay. I'm not tatally convinced yet and wouldnt mind some feedback.

My experience = lousy reception from simply using a short mast. Probably need an antenna system, like the BMW fin, designed for the short mast.

I have a BMW style fin on mine and the reception is not as good as the original antenna.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

I agree with Roger. I mostly play iPod so I'll live with the lesser reception

The shorter antenna looks-well short. The OEM "Bee Sting" antenna's look kinda cool. I went with the hidden amplified antenna found on Amazon; $ 26.50 w/free shipping. Work's great, but do listen to the ipod much more than the AM/FM.02 77Tony

Everyone's replies are actually giving me an idea! I actually would love to add Satelite radio but didnt want to deal with an ugly reception puck next to the OEM antenna. What if I removed the OEM antenna base and mast replace it with a shark fin style satellite antenna and put a hidden antenna for FM/AM like 77tony did!? I mostly listen to satellite but still like som of the local sports stations on AM.
