I don't mean to drag the thread into something else but, it is phenomenal! I've always loved/wanted wide tires on a 928! What are those 77Tony 10"? Did you need to do anything to get them to fit correctly?

The satelite antenna puck fits into the rear brake light just fine.

Would you happen to have a link?

Where did you install the antenna?

I continue to have poor reception from my original roof mount antenna - need to come up with a solution.

Thanks.

Mr Gasket 6100 AM/FM Hidden Radio Antenna:
Amazon Amazon
Works fine. Mounted it in the center, top of the windshield behind the factory tint. 77Tony

Any suggestion on a GPS puck? Will it also fit in the rear brake light?

The satellite puck may fit inside the BMW shark fin... probably need to take the puck's outer housing off to increase reception.

BUT...

You know... if you're contemplating the BMW fin housing at all -BMW made 4 versions (I believe) of the internals.

They had various combinations of AM/FM; Satellite; GPS; Phone that were housed inside the fin. The only difficulty (read: opportunity) from there would be to mate the wiring to the 928's harness. The internals have what appear to be some type of RCA jack that would be simple enough to create a sub-harness to connect. The only issue is obtaining the schematics of the circuit board to identify the 'what goes where' part of the equation.

Here, is a basic GPS + phone internal antennae:

Great find! Although I dont know if I have enough knowhow to get into wireing schematics for a project as smoothe as that. I would probably just try to jam the satelite and GPS puck into the shark fin housing and then use Tony's hidden am/fm antenna.

Yep... mine is missing the #6 & 8 jacks (green & purple, respectively) for satellite radio. So mine just has GPS & bluetooth/'OnStar' functions.

As that image shows, that combination is the antennae used for "all possible equipment options on the US version".

The link you posted corrects my post: AM & FM (3) antenna wires are located in the rear window, not the fin. ROW customers get a 'TV' option as well (and a dedicated antennae wire in the rear glass).

Now, it's just a matter of getting the fin antennae to interface with the stock 928 (or aftermarket) system!

I dug a little deeper and the antenna array has to be programmed specifically to the BMW OEM head units. I dont even want to try it!
I found an itresting sharkfin on ebay that might work;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-2-CARBON-F...item43a9d97571
It would let me keep the whip antenna for AM/FM and hopefully have enough room for the satelite and GPS pucks. I dont want it in carbon fiber but can probably paint it.

I think that is just an empty, stick-on housing. A real housing & base would require a hole in the roof to run wires.

I am hoping that the original antenna passthrough is wide enough for the additional satelite and gps wires..?? If it is, the housing is all i want. Any thoughts?
