I believe the key is in how you estimate the power.

Yep. Using a dyno correction factor, my 84 makes 692whp. Not bad huh?

James...the 928 racecar is on the shelf as my racing/coaching career has taken over all of my free time. It will be done one day, but it is a mere hobby right now. The last motor my Dad built for Bob made 711hp at the crank on Jim Basko's dyno in AZ back in the 1990's. In the Arizona Highwayman issue see the license plate frame. My dad Bud is still alive and knows every inch of a 928...and any other 60's-90's Porsche. If you would like to contact him his email is elftaler@aol.com just tell him his son Jason posted his email on a 928 forum and he will talk your ear off...LOL. He lives in Port Angeles, WA these days. Here is a link to the current state of the new car, wish I had more time to work on it.

Jason, it is GREAT to hear from you! Sorry the 928 is on the shelf for the time being! You will get back to it eventually. Or I might steal it from you and finish it for myself! LOL!

My goal for this year is to get the body back on it an get some pictures for the 928'ers. The body on the car is beautiful. It is sad, but if I could just dedicate 1 week to the car the tins would be done and the body could go back on. No complaints for the busy schedule that is for sure. Have a great 2012 all, J

There was a rumor that those fender flares were made of kevlar, anyone know if there is any truth to that?

Not a rumor, fact....for sure the rear set I had here for many years were Kevlar.

Story was 2 sets were made, the originals used on Bob's 928 and a spare set "just in case". IIRC Mark A eventually used the spare front set on his old 928 racer (now James Morrrison's racer) and 10 years or so ago I bought the rear set from Mark.
