Reminds me of the story of the old sailboat guy, just before bed he is saying his prayers and says, "Lord forgive me, I rode in a powerboat today, and liked it." Will that be Stan; "Lord forgive me, I worked on a LS engine today and liked it"?

Why did you need a new engine harness?

I know how to change the coolant and oil on a LS 3 engine
the harnes was swapped because it got water damage and was also showing internal shorting and at this point it was easier to swap in a new part than try to repair the old harness
That said I did get my eyes on a new Corvette TT and auto transaxle that will fit into a 928 just gotta figure the engine part

Most of the GM engine harness damage was caused from a loose negative battery strap...moisture took over from there. Tom JP unfortunately will not make it to Frenzy this year. T

For sure Curt. LS lump is in and its staying. Have been looking at Tesla Model 3's for Tambra though. T

Tony is way too diplomatic and nice. While Stan and I were working on JP, we had to correct many items such as fried fuse sockets, shorted/corroded connector pins (water damage) improperly installed shock springs, missing shock dust covers, missing shock bumper stops, cut up pieces of shock dust boots used as spacers, home-made crimps and bypassed wires in the GM fuse box, just to name a few....some pictures of the before horrors.
Thanks to the help of Stan, JP will be very well sorted out mechanically, and when the interior wiring is finished it will, once again, be an awesome car. Tony spares no cost when it comes to making things right.

We also encountered an issue with factory new shock dust covers not fitting properly onto Koni shocks. We acquired a special tool (Stan knows the name of it) and the dust covers are easily modified to fit properly. Again, I learned a bunch more from Stan's excellent wrenching skills.

Leftover pieces of old dust boots someone used for spacers on the shocks

Mmmm, nah

Duh

Really?

Here are some pictures of the correct spring alignment and the tool used to correct the shock dust boot inner diameter to fit onto the Koni shocks.

Thanks for the pictures Carl.
This is a rewiring job that really has to be seen to fully grasp the depth of commitment thats needed to see through.

Carl is a wiring wizard, and perfection is how he rolls,
thanks for letting me watch, I have been learning.

That tool we got at HD and it made the plastic hole just right to fit over the slightly thicker Koni shock piston

Tony,

I have read about 1/3 of this thread and am simply amazed by your "Just Peachy" project. Can't wait to see it in person!

And as an aside, the Merc is a much better value for money car than the Tesla for Tambra... But you know that...

Enjoy!

Tony - saw you posted info in the "weight" thread but what's the latest on JP? Assume it's up and running? Any pics?

Default Cluster, etc...

Recently purchased a late model digi-dash for this OB from Mark A, (will be loading it up with LED's), four new connectors w/pins, an early 89 non-airbag combo switch from a fellow RL'r, and wired the HVAC head to work with the Infinity Box system. Carl (FLYVMO) doing a bang up job putting it all together T

A rare bird..an early MY89 combo switch sans airbag to control the digi-dash. The four connectors/pins now installed took Carl 5 hours...and a few sore fingers T
