With the new digi-dash now in play Carl took advantage of the new space under the dead pedal. Start of a newly designed cool air intake coming off the 3D press in a few hours...stay tuned. T

Thanks guys^^Plan is to pull air from down low and not from the hot engine bay. Custom fab'd center console sub-panel now populated and new TXL wiring/connectors for HVAC head. T

Tony, things are really looking great.......I like where you are going with the intake, I would just like to point out that clearance is tight for driveways. I did a redesign on my inter-cooler tube, which is actually a formed 90 degree hose that is more flat than round to minimize the drop below the cross member. In addition I made a new skid plate around the intake tube to keep things as tight as possible. Not sure if you are going to use the plastic intake or make one out of aluminum, my opinion is the plastic intake wont survive the first driveway unless you build a skid plate for it.
Anyhow, you are moving in the right direction for clean air.

There is not much room to make a smooth chamber transition for volume increase (from high velocity) so an increase in width will be necessary I think if the intake height is reduced.
Cheers!

^^^Cool!
Even if not for the fact that it's the ashtray, that is an odd placement for cruise controls. However, I actually think that's great placement. It might even be preferred by a lot of drivers.

Headlight actuator install
Some updates and pictures on JP, headlight actuator finally installed. After numerous issues, ranging from custom welded eyelets and brackets that had such poor workmanship that they could not be used, to alignment issues, the unit is finally installed and mounted to the headlights.
The decision was made to custom print 3D parts after the local "custom shops" were unable to make parts properly, so an eyelet and lower mounted bracket was 3D printed in stainless steel. Due to the standard configuration of the linear actuator used, the top mounting area had to be replaced/modified to allow for a direct connection to the 928 headlight actuator arm.
Previous tries with trying to incorporate the standard (>'90 model headlight) motor with the Infinitybox system failed due to the systems inability to properly control a rotational motor/gearbox setup, and instead a linear actuator had to be used. The choice became an actuator with up to 4 inches of travel (only 3.75-ish" needed), with a retract/extend rate of about 3 inches per second and a force of up to 100 lbs.
Originally the upper eyelet part was epoxied onto the modified actuator, but due to sideways loads during extension the epoxy bond failed. The side load issue was due to the actuator being 3 degrees off from vertical. Once that was solved, the new mount is both epoxied and attached with screws.
C-clip is installed to prevent movement. Some pictures below
Cheers,
Carl

Hi Carl very crafty on your workmanship,
lots of new things your doing,
have you had the engine running?

Engine has not been started yet since I want the oil pressure and coolant indications in the dash finished before I start it. Dealing with one software update to fix something that then breaks something else...
Cheers!

Just Peachy Lives!
So, an update for Just Peachy. I bought this car from Tony about 4 months ago. Carl was moving and the car needed to move, Tony didn’t have room and generally had lost interest in finishing it.
A couple of things to take note of right away is that Tony built one bada$$ hot rod and Carl has done an outstanding job installing a completely new electrical system! Can’t say enough on everything that has been accomplished up to the point that I took possession.
Anyway, the car was running but not really drivable as a number of things still needed to be completed. Carl had done all the heavy lifting and I just needed to finish up odds and ends. To name a few; the HVAC needed wired in and system charged, wipers needed wired in and operating correctly and the Digidash needed some finishing to get all the gauges working properly along with an operable cruise control, speedometer and tach. Sounds easy but was challenging at times.
All in it took me a little over five weeks to complete. It has had a fresh oil change, alignment and a general going over to make sure everything is functioning properly. I also addressed some paint correction that it is was needing and it looks amazing! The paint color paired with the Pascha interior makes it look incredible.
I have been driving it over this past week to shake it down and HOLY SH!#, it is a beast to drive!! The power, sound and feel of this car are intoxicating. If that’s not enough, the sound system in the car is top notch. If you feel the need to drown out the engine and exhaust, this sound system can do it. Just very well executed.
I would love to say that I’m going to keep the beast but alas I have too many 928’s (if there is such a thing) and I will probably be letting it go. It truly is an excellent execution of a 928 hybrid hotrod! I feel Copperhead is more fitting than Just Peachy. At least that’s what I’ve been calling it.
This was a "WTF did I get myself into" moment.
Plug and Play??
