How about a true cold air intake? Have you figured that out yet?
I was thinking a boxed off area that sealed to the hood and drew fresh from below..
I really dig the wheels you chose Tony
Hey Matt, Didn't forget about you. Will soon have a flow of cooler air coming in from below and in front of the condenser/radiator. Tuner says this mod should lower intake temps significantly and provide a minimum of 550chp T

All I can say is Wow! Sheet metal, right angles. Did your local HVAC guy make it? Remember the MAF needs to be 10 inches from the throttle body, in the middle of the air flow, facing down.
Keep up the amazing work. I cant wait to see what you come up with next!

Did not see a direct flow of air without cutting into the hood. The intake that came out had a right angle and the original air intakes had elbows feeding into the air box after traveling through a hot engine bay. These filters will draw air from in front of the condenser/radiator. Thanks for the reminder on keeping the MAF 6"-10" from the TB. T

While down, headlights not lining up as they should and rattle around a bit. Pulling pod tomorrow to pull the speedo and replace with a digital unit. JP heading up to the painter on Thur to fix & paint front bumper cover. T

Matt, Front fix worked out great. The previous oil charged air filter was messing with the MAF sensor causing a dead pedal. Cleaned with MAF sensor cleaner, and cut the intake elbow a bit to allow for a larger dry type air filter. Remounted the MAF sensor under the elbow for a cleaner look. T

Dinsdale please add more info about the MAF placement,
thank you.
I did get a chance to drive this machine its quite the awesome beast.
Both going and stopping.
Lots of nice engineering points.
Dins you do very nice work.
thank you.

Post #723 from few months ago.
My LS1 aftermarket MAF had a large arrow on it pointing up to ensure orientation of sensor. If its wrong, you can get lean conditions. What this car needs is a Piranha CAI....

No...it was not a direction issue
The same problem has been reported here on RL before if you use a K&N air intake filter you run the risk that the oil used to coat the K&N filter will find it's way onto the MAF sensor wire or other sensors which in turn results in a bad or no signal from the MAF to the LH or similar fuel computer.
How do I know? Well I fixed it

Had this problem with my 911 and they really don't filter better than paper
and tend to chirp or whistle when you flog it. Haven't bought one since and never will again.
Tony, if the MAF in this position works fine I'd leave it..it looks clean as you say..
Dins, i think the fix was to toss the K&N and clean the MAF sensor then use a new oil-less filter.
Now you two kiss and make up !
Just Peachy looks great Tony,
now iv'e got to get back to my new car project (weighs on 1200 lbs !!!) -Matt
