New information:

After looking at this project carefully, the builder think that the "first" batch of these, because they are going to build several units will be in the $3,500 dollar range, including the aluminum flywheel. Once they are only building one or two at a time, the price will be closer to the $4K range, as I was initially told.

Heh...I know it's still not cheap, but every little bit helps make it easier to swallow.

going into my forth season with a clutch that is 10 years old, but has a stiffened pressure plate. 370 rwhp. I think for how the old stock stuff that failed at 334rwhp, and and how the new pressure plate is holdig up, i would guess the stock stuff works until about 400rwhp.

^^ that basically echoes my experience. It will be interesting if I bump up my power some more to see how the stock DD clutch holds up.

If you price out either a new full set up for a single disk or even more expensive, a double disk setup that price looks a lot more attractive.

Greg,
I'll take one. I am in the middle of my twinscrew install on my 85 track/street car and this sounds like the ticket. Will send e-mail shortly.
What kind of mods or extra work will be needed, if any, to use with stock 85-86 trigger ring?

Bit of an update today- Greg got a present in the mail today, it had his namesake on it:

Twin disc carbon/carbon clutch, hydraulic release bearing, steel flywheel, 33.5 lbs for the whole shebang.

We spent the afternoon verifying fitment, and R&R'ing my TT (the bearings in it were growly, so hello to superbearings....). Hoping to have a report on how she drives by next week- Gotta reinstall the headers first....

New clutch pack in situ:

Just as a data point, we pulled the old uprated DD clutch out of my stroker this morning as well- the drive straps in the pressure plate showed signs of being overwhelmed (not supposed to be bowed like that....). Here's the before and after on roughly 6000 miles of enthusiastic driving.....

+1

If this can be installed in a "stock" DD setup with a 60-2 ring......

What release bearing is being used? A hydraulic one to replace the slave by any chance? I may need to page back and get up to speed on this.... For some reason I didn't realize this was going to be fore the double disc setup.

Take the ring off an automatic S4 and sweat it onto an 84/85 DD flywheel.

That's what I have in my car.
