No mods as of yet, other than the cat removal, if that counts as a mod. Got it with 65k miles and I have done the TB/WP, intake refresh, new 24lb injectors, new cap-rotor-wires, cams set at -2/0 cold and rebuilt maf. It's the Wife's car so it has to be right. Good baseline numbers before we add your chips, trying to decide which of your chips to get, 87octane sounds good to me.

Brian, I had the 89 Octane chips and had some pinging at WOT... soooo I switched to Ken's 91 Octane chip set and the pinging is gone... Of course the pinging was probably due to one or both cams being "advanced" as Ken mentioned after seeing my DynoJet chart... We'll see in about a week or so when we check the cam timing. Regardless, I'm gonna stick with the 91 Octane - it costs more so it HAS to be better.... right LOL!!!

Guys, I have an 86.5 porkenized, stock cats, intermediates & RMB - nothing fancy. Had some pinging with Ken's 89 Octane chip set, etc... changed out to the 91 Octane chip set and measured the results on a Dynojet. Pinging was gone, but didnt get the performance results I was looking for... Ken suggested one or both cams may be advanced... Yep they were! He's like a freakin' genious or something!!! Reset cam timing per Ken's recommendations 0 / -2 and noticed a marked improvement (seat of the pants testing). Finally got it back on a Dynojet (same dyno / operator as last time) - HP improved from 256 to 270 (rwhp) and Torque improved from 288 to 298... Dyno'd with the hood up / stock air intake/filter in place / 6000 rpm limit / 93 F / 29 in humidity... it was much cooler in May during the previous dyno so I'm very pleased with the improved performance. Next stop - CATs delete & install X Pipe

BTW, we did the dyno test in 4th gear. Tried it in 5th gear but the car didnt like it at all... clutch didnt like it either. The dyno operator said in 5th we were at 5000 rpm @ 165 mph and still climbing so he shut it down... My clutch didnt like it and apparently his dyno doesnt like to go THAT fast

You will have had some air temp retard, possibly quite a bit.
Even with SAE weather correction, colder dyno days are always a good thing.
Might have done a little better with the Blue Blower on the intake (pic).
Have to keep the MAF and air temp sensor cool for consistent pulls.
TQ will go up a little, HP should be around 300 with X-pipe installed.
To get over 310 sae, you need RMB, fan delete, airbox lid delete, gasket matching, etc...it's a losing battle.

There were two 86.5 928s and we wanted to get as close to "real world" readings as possible so we didnt take off the air box/filter and ran 'em how we brought 'em. We showed up at 0900 but didnt get on the Dyno until almost 1300 hrs - it was a long day for the Dyno guys. By then it had warmed up 20 degrees... Mine is a manual and the other was an Auto. Mine consistently has more HP & Torque - we always bet a beer on who has the most power - I'm up by two The main objective was to see if the cam adjustments worked and/or if we did it correctly I'm sure I'll pull even more power once I get the X Pipe and maybe a new clutch... Its always SOMETHING... LOL!!

I'll be pretty disappointed if my car doesn't do over 300 whenever I get to the dyno. It certainly feels like it's got that much easily. Though I'm running an X and pretty much free-flowing after the fact. No stock exhaust on the car except for the manifolds. I really want to do equal length headers though, with a different setup.
