Default My 2012 OCIC photos, part 1

My upload to Picasa Web of 353 photos that Helen and I took at the OCIC just completed this afternoon.

You can view the whole album at 2012 Porsche 928 OCIC.

In case you're wondering, your photographers for these photos were me (about 90% of the photos):

and my wife Helen (check the upper right of this photo ):

If there are any of these that you want in a higher quality and/or resolution than what I've shared on Picasa Web, just contact me and I'll either update Picasa Web with a better version of that photo or I'll otherwise get an improved version to you.

A few of my favorites (I'll split these in multiple posts over time so as not to load up the page with too many large photos):

(Click any of these for a larger version)

(Help me get to another page—say something about the OCIC or whatever; I've probably already killed this page with too many large photos.)

Default My 2012 OCIC photos, part 2

What luck... I see that previous post was the first one of a new page on this thread, so I guess I'll just add a few more since it'll be awhile before there's a new page.

Again, you can view the whole album at 2012 Porsche 928 OCIC.

YEAH! Awesome time (ooooh, gotta stop that! Even the thought of something loud makes my head hurt! )

Looked through all the photos, good job Sean!

Was definitely worth the trip, ot even counting winning new door seals (donated old ones to Herman) and WOOT! So glad I didnt notice (along with anyone else at my table) that the door prize tickets were taped to the boxes.. Which got thrown away.. got new ticket and YES! Won a set of Pirelli tires!

Yes Andy, I am "one lucky guy!"

[EDIT] CHUCK! You still owe me a large bottle of Tylenol for forcing all that acohol down my throat!

Pulled into the drive here in Vegas 1pm. My radiator core let go as I shut her down. Car has some issues, but it'll be ready for 3rd Coast in November. Had a great time, looking forward to doing it again.

FWIW, the weather was fantastic compared to Vegas.

Yeah, sure; thanks for asking. If you (or anyone else) needs to grab one of the photos you see in that Picasa Web album, you can use the "Download / Download photo" menu option to get the file (in its shared-via-PicasaWeb-JPEG form, for which I generally use 2400 pixels along the longest dimension). I'd also be happy to provide you with the original full-size (typically 5616 by 3744 pixels, unless I've cropped it) image on request.

It's generally nice form to leave EXIF information (including embedded copyright notice) intact in images. And then extra credit for giving credit.

If there are any images that are especially important to you (that "you" means anyone reading this), I don't mind making one more round of improvements to particular images on request; I rather sped through the RAW conversion process last night since there were so many photos and I just wanted to share them sooner rather than later. The thing most likely to be in need of improvement in many of these images is white balance; the venue was rather challenging in this respect due to the presence of both natural light from outside and the artificial lighting inside. So, for example, if your car doesn't quite look like it has the right color in the photos, that can probably be corrected without too much effort.

You can also just link to Picasa Web album photos in contexts (e.g., web pages or here in Rennlist posts) where you want to embed them. E.g., for the photo you mentioned, you can use links (e.g., in HTML, as the SRC attribute value for an IMG element, or in Rennlist posts, inside IMG "markup tags") of this form:

Code:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1Bh9aex_wuk/UAQ92xsrjeI/AAAAAAAAcnU/YqiwTZkq8x0/sp/2012-07-C1-0207.jpg
where p (note the "/sp/" part of the above URL) is the size in pixels (or "0" for the actual full-size source image) you want for the long side of the image. So, for example,

Code:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1Bh9aex_wuk/UAQ92xsrjeI/AAAAAAAAcnU/YqiwTZkq8x0/s400/2012-07-C1-0207.jpg
will give you this:

You'll have to get someone else to Photoshop in a bikini-clad hottie rather than the dude (I'm guessing) in shorts in the background.

You betcha! Thanks!

I'll be posting a bunch more of you and your car here; there are some fantastic ones yet to come (the ones I'm lifting out of that album and sharing here). IMHO, they need to be pretty big to be fully enjoyed.

And thank you for providing such a photo-worthy example of a 928! Gorgeous car, obviously incredibly well cared for. Great work!

Thanks, and yeah... nice to meet up with everyone again.

Perhaps Helen and I need to get down to Texas again (her brother lives in Fort Worth). We haven't been there since the 2009 OCIC. Seems like there's a hell of a lot of 928 activity down there, too!

So you are asking yourself "What would happen if a ceiling tile came off of a truck and hit the front of my car while driving on the highway?".
This might happen:

Two of my favorites from Ed's collection were the following sequence. In good fun, Bilal and the boys were giving me unrelenting grief about some dirt they had uncovered near the hood latch. After enduring as much as I could take, I moved to throw them out of my engine bay and close the hood!

Great times, I look forward to the next one!
