After three hard days work I managed to get my TT rebuilt with new Super Bearings and repaired transmission back in and everything buttoned up. The maiden test drive was successful so all that remains is to get her aligned. Sharon and I are heading up sometime late Thursday morning and spend the afternoon kicking around Wichita. We would love to meet up with everyone else Thursday evening in the hotel bar for a beverage or three.

As such I have canceled all of the models...

Sorry for the confusion. This was/is NOT a decision that I would have made on my own without being asked or asking in the first place.

Go in peace and bring the family no scantily clad ladies will be there, at least not any invited by me.

Hi James. I guess they might have been talking about MODELS of cars, since you have one of the best collections around.

Maybe you can figure out how to have some really cute gals drive some of your models to the convention. Would the work?

I will be bringing my alignment setup if anyone is interested in seeing how to do a home alignment. I should note, however, that I normally do this with ramps so I can gain access to the front tie-rod jam nut and steering rack centering bolt (and sometime to get at the rear camber nut). Obviously, I am not bringing ramps, so without ramps it will be near impossible to do an actual alignment, but we can at least do an alignment check. If we figure out a way to gain access, I'm happy to do a full alignment.

What type of ramps will you need? Do you put all 4 wheels on ramps? I believe I'll have some ramps there for my supercharger installs, but will only need them for a short time. You are welcome to use them if you'd like.

What's a door scraper seal? Do we mean window scraper? I think the red car needs them... I'll send a pick if so.

Anyone leaving from DFW Friday early afternoon? I think I'm the only Houstonian making the drive.

as an FYI.. I am leaving FRIDAY around 2:00 - 4:00 from my office, who wants to meet here and drive up? My office is at 183 and Valley View Lane in irving, right by the GWBT...

I've got a Valenite One, would be good to get someone else with a radar detector to lead or be at the tail end...

When did 928 owners all become girly-men?

At least the boys will get a charge out of MW's shorts.

No doubt! I'll take a collection and hire a couple of strippers.

Respectfully,
Thanks, James! As a girly (non-man) 928 owner I really appreciate your help in keeping the focus on the cars and their owners; it'll make us females feel a little more welcome. There'll be enough testosterone at OCIC as it is without any help from additional beautiful bodies.

Look forward to seeing you there - it's been a while!

Zane, I think you are quite correct! It will be a Testosterone rich environment (with a tip of the hat to Top Guns, "target rich environment")...

I have some bad news today however my friends... I knew it was coming from a phone call I got Friday I just didn't know how bad...

The '95 GTS is done (post deer hit) and it looks spectacular! So, the bad news??? Well, the insurance company paid most of the supplemental requests for money, but not nearly all of them. I am now on the hook for MANY thousands of dollars!!! Not just one or two or even THREE... Sooooo, discretionary spending has come to a halt.

Therefore you guys will have to drink one for me and AO, be sure if you bring the strippers out get an extra dance on my behalf as I will have to pass. The trip would have cost me about $1k (try towing a 928 with a 32' Pace Arrow and then fill that with gas a couple of times...OUCH!) and I just can't justify this expense right now.

I had SUCH a good time in '09 and in '04 I am GUTTED that I can't make this one! Interesting that I am missing this for my '95 GTS as I missed 2000 for my '92 GTS! WEIRD!

Anyway, I will be with you guys in spirit and we will be having our 2nd Saturday GTG here in Austin as per normal this weekend so we actually will be talking about all the fun you guys are having! I can't wait to see pics!

You guys ROCK!

I too am out unfortunately. My father passed this morning and I will be out of town with family through the weekend. I was looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I hope you guys have a blast.
My Dad loved sports cars, racing (raced some at Willow Springs back in the early 60s) and spending time with me teaching me how to work on them. I will miss him.

If its around 2, I'd be interested in meeting up for the drive, but don't want to roll in too late and miss any
Friday evening festivities. I have a radar detector and will bring a radio. PM me ur cell and I'll call when I'm in the area.

James, we'll miss you. Why not a scaled down trip with no RV? (we sold ours last year, but know what you mean about filling it up)
